Default Another PowerLab kit installed

Well alil over a week ago me and my roomate decided to install my Powerlab kit. We had a blast putting it on and it only took us a couple days. We started on a Friday night and ended with everything done by sunday morning. As everyone has heard the fitment is very tight but somehow we managed to get all that 3inch piping in place. The parts are top notch on this kit and with over 1k miles I have yet to have any issues. (knock on wood)

My GF managed to take a few pics of the process. Sorry there arn't very many showing step by step instructions on how to install this kit.

Want to give a shout out to Jeffie and his thread and also for helping me out with a few things via PM. Would also like to thank Quadcam for calling me back and helping me out with the Utec. You guys rock! A big thanks to Jeremy Tibbs at Performance Factory for the awesome customer service and giving me one of his rock solid tunes. Since my car is a daily driver I need it to be reliable but still fun

Here are some pics and couple vids from the install and the tune at Performance Factory.

Before

During

Power steering relocation

Dirty Engine bay pic

After the install

Had to cut alot out of the air damn to make the Air Filter pipe fit but it came out decent looking.

Couple Dyno Videos

The car is basically stock block with some bolt ons. Jwt Combo, Powerlab Spacer, Greddy TiC dual with custom Reverse Y pipe. I could squeeze more power out of it but since it is my Daily we went with something that would be alil conservative but still fun and fast. Jeremy's rpm meter was busted so hence why there are no Torque number but from what he mentioned to me it's about 382lbs of torque.

If you have any questions feel free to drop a line here or pm me. Also I do have a copy of the instruction manual for anyone that didn't get one with their kit. I can email it to ya since it's in PDF format.

Hope to take her to the track this weekend and see what kinda numbers I put down. Before the boost I was around 13.4. Hopefully that number should go down alot

Thanks for looking!

Congrats!!! Super Clean.... Car sounds pretty tame in the vids with the Greddy Ti-C.

Have any pics of the exhaust setup after install?

Did Jeremy tune for wastegate pressure?

Thanks for the comments so far!

Car is running at 9PSI currently. Have a manual boost controller which they installed for me over at PF. When I do my oil change coming up soon I'll take some pics of that Reverse Y for you so you can take a look at. The guy did a great job on the welding/crafting of it.

Hi mate, I'm not sure if you have seen my thread about the PL kit vs. APS twins. May be you would be able to give a good review on driving impressions? Eg throttle response, how it spools? What the performance jump was like going from bolt ons to the PL kit?

When I do my Oil change I'll be clocking the turbo just alil more like mentioned above. Jeremy mentioned this to me too so the oil drains alil better.

I did not get a turbo blanket yet but as far as the temps go it's not to bad. Car pulls hard as hell and the hood isn't even hot after running it. I drive about 30miles to work and 30 back on i75 or us41 so the car is running non stop basically that whole time. When I get home I usually check for leaks and I touch the hood to see how hot it gets but it only feels warm to the touch and no leaks.

Also for some people asking about the coolant tank I'll be taking a pic of that this afternoon for those that have asked to see where I placed mine and how I mounted it.

Thanks again for all the comments!
Will have more pics up soon and some drive by runs and possibly a 1/4mile run if I can make it to bradenton this sunday.

Hi DJ,

I'm not sure about the aps kit but from what I've seen it looks like a decent kit. But as far as my review on the Powerlab kit. All I can say is I'm blown away by the amount of goods you get for what you pay. Everything is good quality and all the piping is solid. As far as going from bolt ons to turbo it's night and day. The boost kicks in around 2800-2900rpms and after that you are flying. You can feel the car pulling all the way to redline like nothing. Before you know it you look down at the speedo and you are doing 130mph easily. What's really nice also is when you are driving normally it's like having a stock car. You stay under 3k rpms and the gas mileage is still really good. I'm running the utec in mine and so far have had no issues with hot start or cold start. I had 1 engine code but it was due to evap relocation kit for my exhaust. One of the tubes with a sensor to it was alil off but I reset that and no codes yet.
