Hey Red Rider, I looked at your car, I'm not sure if you and Doug are just joking but your car looks nice to me and your system looks very clean. Also have a TT to move that extra weight! Nice Ride

I'm on my third red top - I seem to replace it every year (under warranty every time so far). I even keep my car on a trickle charger to help the battery out.

Needless to say I won't ever buy another red top.

I had a yellow top many, many years ago and it lasted a very long time.

Yeah...but his car lacks the pure sound of a Sunbeam 8-Track system

I can't see why a car battery would need to be charged when not in use. I let my Z sit for months last winter and it started right up in March. It just seems like the OEM replacement batteries always work the best. I used to buy super expensive gel batteries for my sea-doo and they never lasted worth a $hit! Seems like the cheap ones are always better.

20lbs? come on mannnnnnnnnnn .. lol

are we really in that much of a worry to save 20lbs?

anyway.. i don't hate Dry Cell Batteries.. i had a Yellow Top in my maxima.. and the great thing about it was when it died.. you could still use it.. apart from the bad one i bought from Autozone but they replaced it for free..

I have an Autozone Battery in my Z and my reason i havn't replaced it with a dry cell battery is because i havn't seen any signs of strains on the System.. when i was in my maxima.. my lights would flicker when the bass was too loud.. i havn't seen anything with the Z so i didn't change it.

Yellow Tops are great, but why bother if you don't have to?

^^Yes. Ever notice your car seems a little quicker on an empty tank of gas? Power to weight ratio. Accordfreak, where did you get your braille? Are you happy with it? I have had the stocker replaced and I dont like any of the Optimas. They are certainly not worth the money and dont seem to last any longer better IMO.

So you are saying that you can feel the difference of 20 lbs in your car. That means you can also feel a 5 hp gain

I have never had a problem with the Optima battery....works good for me.

And BTW....was it not Braille Battery Co that screwed over one of the mods on here.....try getting a warrentee if something goes wrong

Geez, here we go. Yes my butt O meter has been finely tuned by the top engineers from Nasa. Im saying that collectively the weight will add up for the same reason you dont want to be rolling you 20's down the strip to get the best time. Lighter exhaust, seats, removal of the spare tire, etc. Are you saying you dont notice the difference between 3 other people in the car then just by yourself? I didnt think so.

Optimas..I dont care for, Period.

As far as someone not having good luck with a particular vendor, well I'm sure there are plenty of others that will say they never had an issue. That would be my reasoning for accordfreaks input.

you thing 3 people in a car is the same as adding 20 LBS Yes you will feel the difference if 3 people are added to a car...you will not feel 20lbs...It dont matter if NASA tuned your AZZ O Meter

For example 3 skinny grown men at 150lbs each x 3 = 450lbs......that you will feel

20lbs savings, lol

Seriously, the braille batteries are problematic. Not worth the weight savings on a daily driver.

Oh, but they do look consumer oriented, kind of like the out of box 'iphone' experience except for the car battery market
