Default PowerLab '06

Has anyone installed a PowerLab GT35R kit on an '06 REVUP yet?

I just noticed in the kit description that it says tested on 03-05. It's already a tight fitting kit so anyone with an '06 attempted it?

Cheers

Intense installed one on a local customer with a revup Z. I don't recall if it was an '06 or not. Check with them.

the 06 is fine. only issue is a tab sticking off of the tranny that might have to be shaved down with a grinder depending on your car.

The 06 will need a different mid up pipe to clear the steering rack.

For the sake of not creating another thread as well. Would you guys recommend Cam's with the GT35R setup? Obviouslly the JWT S7 as it's the only one for the REVUP.

I've heard the kit is a tad slow to boost so the Cams would help me keep making power up top no?

They made one for me. Just ask.

I have the s7 cams. I did have some issues with the fitment of the cams. The heads will have to be clearanced. The drivers side is the worst side. The lobes are tall.

Why would you swap the steering rack? Sounds like more work than it's worth if there is revised piping to fit.

Guess I'll try get ahold of someone at Intense or PowerLabs to confirm.

Is that a typo? I'm pretty sure '05 was the first year for the revup motor on the 6MT Z.

+1 about what weak 350z said about the up pipe to clear the steering rack on the '06. That jogged and refreshed my memory about the local revup customer I posted about above. I remember PowerLab having to fab a section of the up pipe to clear it. I wish I knew the customer's username on here, but he isn't very active on the forums.

Good idea to contact Intense or PowerLab to confirm that they offer a different up pipe for the '06 revups. I will try to get in touch with one of the guys at Intense to post in here.

Just make sure to specify to whichever PowerLab dealer you buy the kit from that you have an '06 revup.

Hey Everyone,

The Powerlab GT35R Turbo kit is currently for the 03-05 VQ35DE 350Z. We have, as well as other Powerlab dealers, installed this kit on '06 Rev-Up VQ's. There is one pipe that needs to be modified in order to clear the steering rack. We can modify the pipe for you before shipping, or you can have your installer do the modifications in house. All other portions of the kit are the same. Please feel free to contact us or any other authorized Powerlab dealer to inquiry about this setup.

Sorry for the confusion everyone.

Had me worried there for a second. Then i got to the fourth sentence saying you guys will make the modification in house and I settled down again.

Good news.

When we receive our kits, they are for the 03-05. So if you purchase the kit from us (or any other Powerlab dealer), we can make this modification for you before it ships. Just be sure to mention that it is for an '06 Rev-Up.
