Autronic anyone? I am considering this because my tuner uses it and it is supposed to have a ton of features. No harness though, has to be hard wired.

It's a slimmed down version of Motec. In the hands of a good tuner, it's brilliant, just like any other standalone.

ttg... So I take it Japtrix is an authorized HKS dealer, and if so, who is the one certified to tune the F Con? This will be a big determining factor as to which ems to go with now that PF is leaving

Does your shop tune Autronic. Do you know any other tuner than Dave that does? I worry slightly that if anything ever happend to F:T like with PF that I would have an orphan EMS.

Roger is certified. I'm not sure about Jack, but I do know he does tune the Vpro.

As for all the others questions about having the tunes lockedhere is your answer. All the shops/sponsers here lock there tunes with the HKS Vpro. As sharif said your EM will need to be completely retuned unless you go back to your original tuner.

Yes, we have tuned Autronic. Tuning it is not the issue. It's just that the time and setup and required $$$ to do so, there are better plug in options like the Fcon and Haltech.

PF was a fan of Haltech, and thanks to that anyone he has setup with it can continue to use him or go anywhere else without starting from scratch. I don't understand why people choose FCON when Haltech is a solid product boasting more features, costing less money, with an unlocked interface. hmmm

I know for sure that Roger has been through HKS's F-CON training, and I think Jack has as well, but I'm not sure. Jack did my tune for the dyno graph he posted in my thread, but Roger did the road tune, and they definitely know their shiat about tuning. I just got my Cosworth Plenum and SPR triple pump hangar put in (1 pump is a backup), so we will be tuning again in the next few days.

As I indicated previously, we have the F-CON V Pro setup to automatically change to a scramble fuel/timing map when the meth system is on, and to automatically change back to the base map when the meth system is turned off (or if the meth tank runs dry, or if the meth fluid flow drops below a certain level for a particular level of boost, etc. This is implemented in conjunction with the Coolingmist Smart Injection controller). Also, if knocking is detected by the AFR Knock Amp, the timing is automatically retarded by the F-CON. In addition, we are using the F-CON for WOT shifting and two step launch control.

Hal...the Haltech is definitely my 1st choice, the problem is, once JT leaves Florida there's no one to tune the Haltech.

I just downloaded and browsed through the Haltech manual. It looks very sweet. I like the feature of being able to selectively enrich the AF mixture during launch control, as well as the built in NOS control (although you might be able to get the F-CON to automatically do these things, I don't think it is as straight forward). Anyway, the Haltech manual seems to be very thorough. I'm not sure why an experienced tuner wouldn't be able to tune it, especially if they are already familiar with other EMS systems.

I can't speak for Japtrix, but I would think that if somebody wants to use a Haltech, they would be able to handle it. Again, the manual seems to be very thorough, and if that still is not adequate, Haltech probably has some sort of technical support available.

Edit: I didn't see anything in the Haltech manual about knock detection. With the Haltech, is there a way to retard timing if knock is detected?
