After (90% done):

Hopefully I'll get it buttoned up tomorrow and then I'm just waiting on the wheels to come back from paint to be ready for the show. Oh.... just heard a rumor tonight that there may be another 8-10" of snow on Monday night

I will post a few more pics when it is 100% done and the car starts and runs

I cheated and did not cut a single wire, I've had enough issues and don't need any electrical gremlins. It just takes a bunch of time to unwind the stock harness covering and, if your me, to label every single connection so yo can plug it back in the right place.

So did you find a lot of extra length in some of the wires? Just curious. Thought of doing this before but always thought it 'required' a lot of cutting and soldering. Nice to know its an option. Good work.

You are correct sir. Surely you noticed as well that none of the plenum bolts have been installed yet as well. We just sat the upper on to take a quick pic as I had a dinner date with the wife that I needed to get ready for in a hurry.

With all the weather I figured any day I had away from work was a good one. The plan was to just get the tear down down, but then Jesse stopped by and it was full speed ahead

Still need to secure the plenum, install the intake, strut bar, catch, passenger side plastics can and clean off the calipers.

So did you find a lot of extra length in some of the wires? Just curious. Thought of doing this before but always thought it 'required' a lot of cutting and soldering.
There is a bunch of extra wire in most of the passenger side and especially the the two connections at the end of the harness on the back side of the motor. We just taped everything off real good and zip tied it off back by the fuel lines. The huge plenums our cars use hides everything back there.

See, I knew you were paying attention

Finished up to 99% complete this morning. Still have to do the strut bar and replace the front fender lining on the drivers side, the old one broke loose and was consumed by a hungry front tire.

Started it up and its 100% cool, no oil or smoke at all .

I installed the interior plastics back on the passenger side and noticed after starting the car that the gauge lights are on all the time now. I must have done something when I was swapping out the center section for the painted one .

Anyone have an idea of where to try and fix this first? Everything still works, gauges, head lights, tail lights, turn signals and flashers, just the center console and speedo cluster are always lit. The AC controls turn on and off like they are supposed to and also are not back lit until I turn on the head lights/parking lights.

I am a moron... this is what happens when you never drive the car. The glare off the snow was so bright it made the gauges look extra dull, but with the door closed to the garage it seems normal again

Good to see some pics.

I think I'm going to do the wiring on mine soon, but I plan to cut and shorten.

If you need help with anything else, just ask.

Nice to see you still troll threads from time to time. Good to know that I have the private number of the Godfather of wiring/lighting/electrical For those of you that may no know, Acree was THE MAN at interior LED mods... to bad he is retired now.

I may hit you up when the doors come off for the custom Wicked CAS panels, I remember you saying certain steps had to be taken or parts will bend and/or break.

How is the job (externship?) working out?

Yeah the internship is working out really well. I'm with a company that handles power delivery for 7 million users here in Texas.

The Z goes up for sale at the end of this week. As soon as I can get it sold, I'll be grabbing keys to an Evo IX. And as soon as Sony gets their head out of their @$$, I'll be picking up a Vaio Z. It's nice to have money, instead of just "surviving" while in college.

Grabbed up an Evo-R shift **** from another member here (tomiegunzz) and put that on today too:

Installed the new front fender lining as well. Thought that is would take five minutes, but it fought me for almost an hour. Its always the simple things that cause the drama
