My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress
The wife was less than impressed by my new dining room additions:

I had the lips changed from chrome to the matte silver finish used on the bezel trim and door handles. Had the centers blasted down to the factory primer and now sending them out for DB paint:

I taped off the lips to save on cost a bit and also because I have OCD when it comes to things like this:

Just confirmed that someone is in at the paint shop today (although not my painter) so I'm dropping them off now. The snow crushed our area and all my restaurants are closed again today, its gonna be a rough month

I'm 90% sure my G is part of this 6 foot snow drift.
Good luck getting that out anytime soon Jesse. I was talking to Jon the other day and am thinking how much fail it will be to drive my car an hour north in this mess to show it. Any chance we can use your trailer if I come shoel it out for you? If its still not inspected we can just pack the plate with some road grime to cover the sticker
BTW, I'm still hoping to get the valve covers swapped out and tuck that main harness that crosses the front of the motor. Got any free time this weekend? I have a heated garage now, so we could work in comfort.

I might have some time this weekend.
The trailer is compltely inaccessable until the snow is melted enough to get in the field. I'm predicting it will remain immovable for more than 2 weeks. Sorry man, I didn't think about repositioning it before the one two punch of the weather this past week. Now I hear another storm is on it's way for Monday.

The powder coater was supposed to do the inside lip in the blue PC that I have had some other pieces done in, it looks just like DB when not in direct sun, but he f***ed up and forgot (I think he was rushing due to the weather setbacks).
Now I will have the inside lip sprayed DB like the insides of the wheel. I would have them re-done, but then I would miss my show. At least this way they will be a perfect color match and time will tell if they hold up or not

As Cass said, the GSX stays in the garage. I have 2 trucks and two cars and not enough garage space for them all and the other toys.
The neighbor is shoveling his roof off, which I may also have to do today.

I wish it was that warm up here. Can't wait to see it when your "done" Chris
we need to try and get together on times if you and Mike still want to head up to the show together.Progress was made today. A huge THANK YOU to Blinkerfluid for stopping over to help me today with the valve covers and wire tuck. Having someone who has built motors before gives me a level of comfort when doing DIY projects. Thanks as well to jtgli for his how-to advice on the wire tuck and letting me copy this idea from his car and Frank Hill for always answering the phone, even when he knows I'm calling to ask him stupid questions

Some pics of what was accomplished today, here is how it started out:

Pulled off the plenum and intake and disconnected the wire harness and then separated it out as best we could:

Swapped out the stock valve covers for the set I had painted to match and put on the powder coated oilers as well. Finished look at appx 90% done:

While Jesse did the hard part (valve covers) I covered the catch can lines and some of the hoses for the valve covers in the new red aluminum tubing I found that matches the red already on the motor. IMO its a vast upgrade from the chrome looking wire loom I had before. Hiding the main harness cleans up the front of the motor a lot and really showcases some of the other work I have done to the motor.
Sorry for the crappy pics, better ones coming shortly.
