going for 600 hp!
Well im in the process of getting started on my tt project. I just purchased a fully built motor. So im searching for turbo info and suggestions. Im looking for around 600 hp. Ive searched and found some info but not enough. I ve heard that stock fuel rail will hold 600 hp and some say it want. Will it? I dont want to buy stuff if not needed to reach my goal. Whats a decent clutch that will hold my hp goal? i just dont have 2 grand to spend on a clutch. Injector size im quessing would need to be 600cc to 750cc? Utec ecu. 3 inch exhaust. fuel pump im thinking a walbro 255lhp should be plenty. I would like the basic to get the motor in and running good. Then upgrade stuff as i drive it and get use to the power before i up the boost. Any info or suggestion would be appreciated.

the stock fuel rail may hold 600.. but its a slim chance it will.. that choice is up to you..
if you don't have the money to spend on a clutch that will hold the power you want.. i think its time you be a little bit more realistic about your goals..
1 walbro with a RETURN FUEL SYSTEM is pushing it for 600 hp.. again i think you need to be a little bit realistic about your goals and limits..
cars break all the time.. especially cars that wern't meant to peform the way the arn't from the factory.. if you are starting to skim on the important stuff.. start small and go bigger when you can.. because you will need the money for maintenance and other little things you never expected
my suggestion is upper 400 whp and work your way from there when the budget permits
+1 on what Doug said!
Here is a link to my build. I just hit 600. It wasn't done on the cheap, though. My most recently updated build list is on page 8, and my most recent dyno chart is on page 9.

Doug is that really you
Must be the holidays
Anyway...I agree....600whp on a budget is asking for trouble....if you dont have $2000 for the clutch system to handle that much power...will you have the $1000 for the twin fuel pump you will need to keep this motor safe

Its a 03 350z enth. The motor is a fully built out of an 04. Thanks doug for your honest opinion. I think my best bet would have to be starting low and work my way up. I just dont have an xtra 15000 to drop on everything at once. What could i achieve with say a stock fuel rail but bigger injectors, Stage 3 clutch, with a good tune? It will be a daily driver intill i can save up some more and buy a truck.
no getting around it, you will need a return fuel system.
Best bet would be buy your Haltech (UTEC is over its head at 500+ hp) ~$1800
your carbonetics triple disc clutch @ ~$1800
your stage 2 CJM return fuel system @~$1000
and go from there.
that way the base is done, and you dont blow your new motor getting ansy for more power.
just look at the shop build for 600 hp cars. No way they walked out without a $20,000 build

UTEc is not out of steam at 500whp. I have 565whp and all is well. A Haltech would be nice however.
Carbonetics triple disca are now $2300.
Single walbro and a CJM stage 2 RFS should get you to around 580whp safely.
Don't forget cams and springs/retainers.

^^ well it all depends on how much boost you need to make that power as it divides the entire boost range by 10 for its resolution. close to 20 psi would only show 2 psi resolution. COuld be missing out on a lot. Also, without a reflash, the injectors needed could case hot start annoyances. Its not even worth starting that kinda build with a UTEC.
and wow thats a good bit of change for a triple disc

The Carbonetic Triple disc clutch are $2200 to $2300....
I will probably go with a utec. A buddy of mine has it on his sc 350z and it has worked fine for him in the last couple of years. I do have cams and head work on my engine i paid 7000+ for a fully built motor. The motor was built to hold 25psi. I guess im going to search for a used greddy tt kit. so i can save more coin for better accesories.
