Intake manifold VS spacer for S/C
What intake manifold or spacer has the best gains for a non rev-up vortech setup?
Do the manifolds like APS tall boy, crawford, or kinetix SSV make any more power on a s/c setup than spacers? I read that the manifolds are better for turbo's, but cant find much info about s/c setups. I would love to get the cosworth, but a little bit too expensive for me. If the spacers are just as good and reliable, than I would rather get one of those and save money for other parts.

Crawford and Aps won't work because the way they run their strut brace and it would hit the blower unit and bracket. I would just do a 3/8" Powerlab Spacer. Still fits under the factory strut bar too.
I assume u are 6MT? If so, then you have a revup motor, and an MREV2 might be the best bang for the buck... Not much testing with FI but I recall JT saying the spacers did little good for FI in terms of power. I would do something just to even out airflow to the front 2 runners.
i do not have a rev up version. its an 05 but too early for the revup model. it is 6mt.
Is there much difference in power between the motordyne 5/16" spacer and the powerlab 3/8" spacer? Is there any dyno's comparing the two?

Tell me more about your Vortech setup in Detail Please.
Exhaust? Headers? Cats? Pulley Sizes? Ect.
How much Boost?
How and where it was Tuned, and what your AFR is from 0-12lbs of Boost.
Thank you
Tim

I dont have a vortech on yet, but it will be a vortech V3 with 2.87 pulley, Greddy EVO TT exhaust(might change it out for something else), HFC, tuned by forged whenever it will be done.
i wouldnt bother with a spacer or plenum. you'll be close enough to rod bending horsepower as it is. Plus you are forcing air in, so the front runners arent restricted like in a NA setup. Use that money towards a RFS or catch can or oil cooler or radiator

i'd just get a spacer
you'll still have a larger volume of air with one when you go from braking to throttle. When you're going WOT it might give you a little more midrange tq.
The SSV is a bad move if you don't have headers and cams or some other internal work like larger valves etc

I have a Cosworth plenum. It's nice, but not as good as all the hype. My recomendation is to go with a 5/16" Motordyne plenum spacer. The Cosworth intake plenum doesn't come alive until very high boost levels which won't even be achieved with a S/C. Details are provided in some of my recent posts in this forum.
Edit: Now that I think about it a little further, take the money that you would spend on a new plentum and put it toward upgrading to a turbo system over a S/C system (assuming you have not already bought the S/C system).
