Default Wastegates & Boost Controllers

hey guys i was just wondering how they sized wastegates per application?................like how do you know if you need a 38mm,40mm,44mm etc..............also with electronic boost controllers.........what does gain do and what kind of performance can you get out of it?

what are your hp goals...r u planning on doin a custom kit or buy a premade one like the greddy one? the greddy kit comes with 38mm wastegates....upgrade the spring and they will handle 600hp no prob....bigger wastegates are beneficial but not enough for me to change them imo...electronic boost controller just lets u control the boost from wastgate pressure until about double the wastegate pressure...thats how much the spring will support...

Quick question, and I don't mean to bring your thread OT but instead of creating a new thread I just thought I'd ask. Since the JWT turbos use an actuator, does anyone know what size spring I'd need to lower boost? I'm still having an overboost problem, and if I can't figure out the problem I may need to go to a smaller spring..I don't know a lot in this area.

Canadian, are you sure the wastegate arm moves freely? It's not getting stuck on anything nearby? It's a tight squeeze under there, so not sure how easy it is to fiddle with. I've never heard of the 530bb giving trouble like that - just doesn't make sense. Must be damage to a hose or to the wastegate mechanism...

I haven't done much looking, honestly. Been too busy

I'll get around to having it looked at though, and will post an update then.

Im not exactly sure how the JWT are setup but im pretty sure they must be similar to the aps... but yea, my actuator arms were rubbing and I was having an overboost problem as well... so be sure to check that!

Forge Actuators in there now, they work niiiiice...
