Default >>>gas leak<<<

Hey Boys and girls hows it going???

Well my car is back to stock and I have a slight problem. I have a fuel leak somewhere near the gas tank. When I fill her up she will start dripping gas (like a drop every 4 sec) when the tank gets half way down it stops leaking but smells like gas with the windows down. Can any of you recommend where to start looking? Have any of you ever heard of this happening before??

Alright so when I open the fuel assembly compartment I should see fuel??? If it leaks from there I take it it can work its way down to the rear of the fuel tank?

Alright opened her up!

I take it its not supposed to be all wet with gas like this?? Is this the cause of the O ring failing??

yes the fuel comes out and goes down the side of the tank, I know because it happened to me, I pinched the oring when I reinstalled the pump and whenever I filled up gas would puddle under the car.

Did you ever get the Vette? I saw your post when you were thinking about it and it sounded like a fun project...

The M3 is definitely a nice ride!

Car and Driver recently compared the 2008 M3 to a 2009 911 Carrera, and favored the M3. Here is a link to the comparison:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/..._test/(page)/1

To try to keep the prices as tested approximately the same, they used a fully loaded M3 vs. a base 911, although the fully loaded M3 was still slightly less expensive.

Some interesting notes:

C&D said the M3 handled better, and it beat the 911 around the track at Laguna Seca by over 1.5 seconds (1.43.84 for the M3 vs 1.45.46 for the 911). In addition, the BMW beat the 911 in the lane change test (70.4 mph vs 68.2 mph) and in breaking from 70 mph (157 ft vs 158 ft).

They tied 0-60 at 4.1 S, but he 911 inched it out in the quarter mile (12.6 s vs 12.5 s) and the 911 had slightly better times to speeds above 100 mph, beating the M3 by 0.7 sec to 150 mph (25.9 s vs 25.2 s).

The results of C&D's testing gave me a new appreciation for the M3. Given these two options in this price category, imo you definitely made the right choice.

If you ever get some extra cash to burn and decide to throw forced injection on your new ride, keep us posted.

Do you miss the TT 350Z, or just glad to be rid of the headaches (well most of them it looks like)?
