Default VQ35 Flat Tappet Cam?

Is the VQ35 a flat tappet cam? I would imagine so since there is no roller involved. Anyone?

essentially, it is a flat tappet cam.

technically, it is a cam-over-bucket setup.

but, if you look at the profile of the cam, the lobes have a "flat tappet" shape to them. it is a very different shape as opposed to a "roller" cam lobe. some overhead cam engine do use roller follower, though. a quick example is the ford "modular" family. all the 4.6, 5.4, and 6.8s use a roller cam follower.

OUr cams have the same shape as the flat tappet cam in the picture below.
