APS twin turbo problem
I feel ya Jay'Z - if my Z was my DD like yours I would just as heated as your are
.
I just wish a shop would post up the definative max out hp on these turbos, I'm willing to be the test mule, but not at my own personal expense. Some of these shops are sitting on a dozen or more of these kits, how do they expect to sell them to forum members now? Have you seen any "don't buy this kit if you have or are building a motor"disclaimers in the sale threads?

No one will post that because APS TTs will sit in their shop and not sell!!
See, to live is to suffer.. And to survive, that defines meaning in the suffering..

Already been done r0me, we are efficient like that:
I have analysis of my APS turbos from the newer TT Tuner kit. This was done by Blouch Turbo in Lebanon, PA - they are an authorized Garrett distributor and know what they are talking about when it comes to Garrett products.
Mike Blouch and another guy at the shop both confirmed that the APS turbos contain zero Garrett internals. They said that these turbos are a knock off of the Garrett GT2860RS, but with journal bearings instead of BB. They were able to point to specific hardware that Garrett uses on all their products as well as the fact that the markings on these new APS turbos indicate that they are hand balanced and Garrett's are machine balanced and show a completely different type of tooling mark. Both of these guys are aware that I was planning on making this information public and said that they have no issue with putting their professional name behind these findings.
BTW, I have already contacted the vendor I purchased from and was told that they stand by their results with the turbos and they never stated a max hp rating. I asked specifically if they felt obligated to assist me in upgrading the turbos to match the performance of the original APS kit and was told no
. AWESOME!!!

Guys what Vendor/Shop sitting on a couple of these kits is gonna say yea this kit has bootleg turbos but you should by them any way. Come on lets be honest with ourselves.
He bought his kit from Z1 Motorsports in GA......

Jay this is simple. Not everyone is a GTM dealer and aps had a good reputation in parts and quality. My kit looks like it was installed from the factory. I'm sorry you and cass have had all these problems. I guess peter from aps is just as bad as reggie from turbonetics now. It's sad they went with crap turbos now. GTM will wind up replacing them with BB turbo kits.
... and the GTM kits are new - I believe they were only recently made available for the DE motor. I agree that they are the choice for the future though.
It's sucks that you and Cass are bearing the brunt of this revelation about the new APS turbos. That said, I think you're in a better spot Jay than you might otherwise be someplace else. I hope so at least. I've had a rough journey here and there myself and I've always felt I've had full support.

I will say, if you like your torque, stay with test pipes and don't go 3" DPs... i lost quite a bit making the transition.
I bought it from z1auto.com . He sent me it without any fuel kit , it looks like incomplete . Then he sent AAM return fuel kit + Walbro fuel pump + DeutschWerks 600cc injectors . He said that this is better and easier to installed . Installation was done in Nissan dealer, but only one boy there knows something about turbos ,he installed also Greddy TT kit . I will checked boost control kit .. They didnt do anything with ECU , do you think that this " Unichip 2003-2005 350Z with PDA interface " can help ? I dont understand everything you wrote , but thank you very much for ideas . It is a big problem for me , nobody understand these problems there and also I must everything buy from US . How can I setup boost ? Only with add ECU ? Thank for help
Ok, what did they do to tune your car? I know its hard for you to understand and I wish I had a english to czech translation but thats not available online.. Did they use that chip? I think unichip can help.. Try utec if they can tune that in Czech..
You can solve some of your problems with a better boost controller/utec, maybe....
with the new APS kit though..
I know your problem and feel your pain deep inside.....
