Too many miles for this mod???
So I have a 2003 350z touring, its entire life it has been stock except for i put a 5/16 motordyne plenum spacer and k&n panel intake on at 53k miles. I drive my car pretty soft- i'll take it to 6k rpm or so once-twice a week. I've been contemplating leaving it how it is, or throwing a k&n cold air intake on it and getting it tuned with a utec or something(would going from a k&n flat panel to a k&n CAI be worth the hp gains?) The big question is i've been contemplating on getting the turbonetics single turbo for my car...my car now has 59k miles on it. Is it getting too late to throw a turbo on my car? Would my car crap out in 20-30k miles? Some advice would be great! Thank you!
It shouldn't really matter how many miles you got your Z as long as you got the $$$$ to spend.
I have a 03 Touring too. The first thing I did was add a K&N drop in. Then, I got the NISMO Cat-back and LMGT4 Silver rims. The exhaust sounded a whole lot better, but I didn't notice much of a gain in performance.
A year later, I added the Motordyne plenum spacer and the NISMO CAI at the same time. After that, I noticed a difference in throttle response and acceleration. including an increase in MPG.
That's all I have done to it. I have no plans to add anything else. Well, maybe headers, but we'll see.

Miles don't matter much, just do a compression test to make sure the motor is healthy. The TN single kit is fairly safe as long as you stay around 8.5psi, but if longevity is your concern.....stay away from F/I.
But honestly, with < 60K on the clock, go for it. I put my SC on at 54K. Granted, I've only put 2K miles on it since it went in last November

Use some common sense, any local mechanic or trusted speed shop/tuner should be able to help you out here. If you are not familiar with the shop I advise that you make sure they let you watch so you can validate their results (plus then you can make fun of others since you will know how its done then).
Lol I don't care. I know I could have googled it or even found it on here. Buttttt I don't mind getting flamed; flamers are i'm sure failures at life with nothing else to do than rant on peoples' lack of expertise any certain area. Thx for the info Cass!
