Hey guys I'm trying to get an idea on Dyno Dynamics numbers at different boost levels.

This is for a Greddy 18G TT, built motor, 3" downpipes, S2 Cams

9psi?
10psi?
11psi?
12psi?
13psi?

most of that is in the shop builds or F/I section if you search. I saw one at 389whp @ 9psi, not sure on the cams. I think the rough est is 20whp per 1 lb of boost - someone else can confirm this

Just remember that F:T does not adjust for temp, so summer dynos always read lower.

Look in here for baseline examples: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...s-w-f-i-7.html

figure out your power at any boost level...

where power equal P and B equals boost in PSI

P / (B + 14.5) = P per PSI

then to get a guesstimate of power at different boost...

(B + 14.5) x P per PSI

how accurate is it? close enough assuming you stay in similiar efficiency of components and tune clean. now, you just need to figure out the answer to one of your 8 questions and then math will give you close answers to the rest!

I don't know if your heads are ported/polished or fuel on your Z, but on a dyno dynamics, I would bet this is pretty close

^ Those are a little low but pretty close. I think when Alberto had S1 cams, Greddy on Sharif's dyno, 13 psi at 480 and 15 psi at 520 or thereabouts.

I agree they are lower guesstimations, lol. I would rather be surprised with a higher number any day

S1 cams

13psi - 490

16psi = 541

BC3

13psi - 550

16psi - 581

That was with Sharif tuning on his dyno. The car makes more power per psi now.

At 16psi on Sharifs tune it did 604whp IIRC on a Dynojet. Now it does 652whp @ 16psi.

Thanks guys.

Alberto and Craig.. those numbers seem to be in the general ballpark +/- 15 rwhp. Hopefully they finish today and I get final #'s.. I'll post up a build thread once everything is said and done..

Yeah, this one is really hard to calculate. Phunks calculation is accurate when starting with a know setup. But it's going to impossible to calculate a generic 10psi=xxxwhp since every engine, cylinder head, exhaust, camshaft, tuning, fuel choice is going to change the output. Even heatsoak can play a role.

Are you about to get your car tuned? My best advise is don't worry...don't chase a number, and let the tuner do their thing.

Very well put

If I may add to that...Choose wisely on who you allow to tune your car to avoid buyer's remorse or better yet tuner's remorse, lol.

woa you laid down 652rwhp on a dynojet at 16psi boost on the greddy kit? this is one of the more impressive things i have heard in a while in terms of efficiency... it beats out the power per psi i was making on greddy twins when i did 573 sae dynojet at 14.5 psi on 100 octane and jwt s1 cams, 2.25 test pipes, borla duals, stock plenum no spacer. race ported heads, 1mm os valves, ferrea valvetrain, if anyone was curious.

That was Ray @ PFS tuning, with Haltech, BC3 cams and still no port work!

605whp @ 13psi is my lowest boost/power level

The car makes 20whp more and more TQ @ 13psi now than it did before at 16psi.

Mine is inneficient now but larry and chris know how I drive so they went uber conservative on the tune. Stock cams/heads still so no need to push too hard. Whenever I decide to do cams they'll get a bit more agressive with the tune I'm sure.

Still the 550rwhp is too much for most of the crap-*** roads round here as phunk can attest to as well I'm sure.

blah, the only reason anyone needs 500+ hp is to brag. if people werent chasing #'s alberto wouldnt have rebuilt so many times, XKR wouldnt be going twin gt35s, and RCdash wouldnt have sent his car back to forged.

its ALL about the #'s
