New exhaust for supercharger = need for a new tune?
Just being impatient and wanting to install this exhaust. I currently have the stock exhaust with test pipes. I have read for turbos that boost would be increased for this circumstance but I have a supercharger. In theory would my air fuel be richer or leaner since my boost should be a bit less? Or should I just wait till things warm up and install this exhaust right before I add my 2.87 as I am having a re-tune for that anyway?
P.S. Go ahead and flame away, my new exhaust is an XO2. What can I say it was $450 shipped to my door and looks good to me.

Ok guys basically I can't justify spending $500 + driving expenses (seems to be the going rate for shops on here) for a tune right now and I don't trust my local shops that would tune my car for $200 even though they have had experience with a few 350Z's and have tuned friends cars over the years without any issues. I really want to add my exhaust that has been sitting around for a month or so (a true dual), I have a stock exhaust with test pipes now. I was hoping since I am supercharged I can get away with this. I know everyone will have different theories on this and many will say just wait and get it tuned. I am willing to do that and just wait until I am more comfortable with spending $500-$600 but wouldn't a free flowing exhaust reduce boost pressure and heat since it will flow better thus making my tune safer? The other thing I was thinking is that while boost may be less there may be more airflow making things more dangerous. I know with turbos it will raise boost and really throw things off but with a supercharger I figure things would be different. I'm just trying to get theories on what the effects are from adding a free flowing exhaust would be without re-tuning. I'm in Ohio so if any shops on here can tune my car for a reasonable rate please pm me. Again, I know that I am basically asking the same question I asked when I started this thread but just trying to make a final decision here and get some theories. Hopefully a reputable shop on here can give me a good deal on a tune as times are just tough right now.

Actually been thinking of doing this. If I hook up my laptop will it tell me if I have had a knocking event or do I have to have the laptop hooked up while driving it to see if this is happening?

i added exhaust a few months after i got my procharger tuned....my tuner said now the car will just run more efficient....i lost like 2psi of boost also from it bein more free flowing since blowers like a lil backpressure....u wont hurt anything...

So if I am understanding you correctly, I would have to have my laptop hooked up during the knocking event to log it? Or does the utec store the event and report in when I hook up my laptop?

Whenever I make any changes to my car/tune I make sure to have my laptop plugged in and logging while I'm driving. I currently use the UTI software though, which will give you an audible alert and can be set to only log if knock is detected.
Hopefully I'll find the funds this year to install a touch-screen carputer to always be monitoring what's going on.
