Default Utec problems and SEL, VDC, SLIP

Hey guys. Okay, most of my build was posted on (another site), but its obviously gone so i'll do a short recap.

Had greddy tt kit bc malfunction caused overboost and i broke my piston ring lands. blah blah blah. Anyway, its a 2006 rev up. I pulled the engine, had it bored/honed/balanced/etc. I built the engine
CP 8.5:1 cr pistions .5mm over, carrillo rods, arp L19's, hks head gaskets, open dumps, etc etc etc.

I started the engine with the stock fuel system and 440cc injectors. map i had on the utec was perfect. First start up was flawless. Only thing is my SEL, VDC, and SLIP lights are on. OBDII says crank position sensor. Makes sense. I've cleaned it off, checked all grounds, everything is good. They won't go away. Only other thing i can think of is the JWT flywheel. I dont feel like pulling the flywheel back off so any suggestions would be appriciated. My next step is changing the sensor out.
Next issue. I got my fuel system in, AAM stage 1 and rc 750cc injectors, and walbro 255. well they sent be a gss341 instead of a 342 so i'm still running the stock fp till my new one comes in. I set the fuel pressure at 42 psi w/o vacuum, which puts me at about 35psi idle. pressure is going up with boost as it should. The car is running rich as hell! Idle is about 13.8 and as soon as boost hits and utec switches to map wideband pegs out at 10. Also, the rev up (not sure if regular DE's do this too) cuts the injectors on decel showing up lean on the wideband. Has always done this. Now with the 750's it goes rich, about 11.2-11.5 on decel. I tried 2 different maps and parameters on the utec for 750cc injectors including the one on the txs website. They both run crazy rich. I lowered the pressure that the utec switches to map to 0 which helped a bit but not much. I don't want to mess with the maps too much yet till i figure out exactly why it is so rich. By the way i'm just running boost off the wastegates right now, about 5.5psi, for break in. i've got 800 miles on the block. Not gonna boost more till 1000 miles when i change the oil again.

so, if anyone has any suggestions on the lights or has a better map or suggestions with the fuel system, any help would be appriciated. Sorry for writing a novel.

most of my build is on youtube if you want to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-e9kcBvsPYc

-ross

edit: forgot to add that my tachometer is jumpy. I can move the sensor around and it stabilizes but the lights are still on.

should be moved to FI...

1) get rid of the UTEC unless you are out of money
2) get tuned

NOTHING is wrong with your UTEC because of brand name.If you just cleaned off the crank position sensor and thats it with the same problom, you might want to get a new crank sensor.Then. if its happened right after the install of the flywheel make sure the flywheel marks ar aligned with the crank shaft.

All you need is a tuner that knows how to tune after that

flywheel is correct, i know for a fact. nothing's wrong with the utec, just thinking the map may suck for my setup or for the revup, because i'm sure the map was made for the original de's and i'm not sure if the tune on the rev up should be any different with the exhaust timing/ fuel cut on decel, etc

I think you nailed it with the

Default jwt flywheel utec same issue

I had the same issue with a jwt flywheel and a new utec.

I know you said you cleaned it off, but the sensor is a magnet and if any metal pieces are on it, it will screw with the utec. It is much more sensitive then the stock ecu.

I had to use oil and a screw driver to clean the sensor. It took intalling and cleaning it about 4 times before the error went away.

Plus I had to reset the error codes on the ecu to get the lights to go away.

The sequence is here in the forum somewhere. Something like gas gas gas, wait 30 seconds gas gas wait 10 seconds. blah blah blah.

good luck
