My backyard VQ35DE build, need some tips
Hey guys im trying to get my hands on a Bore Gauge to measure the blocks tunnel diameters, would a gauge with down to .0005 reading be accurate enough? or I need .0001 for best results? Also are the 3.5s known to have issues with distortion of the blocks tunnels? Because if its very little likely for the diameters to be distorted on these blocks, then i'll just go by the blocks grade. The shop that micropolished the crank told me to just order standard size ACL bearings, but I want to measure everything myself so I can determine myself if that is correct or what sizes I will need, just to be 200% sure.
btw, the block is being bored and honed right now, I went with the more expensive shop since they have a torque plate and experience with the vq. Something I didnt know is that other than the torque plate being installed, they also bolt down the main caps and and main cap beam to then bore and hone, so the bore is the most accurate possible after block is distorted by having everything torqued down.
