i got a rev up block im going to build for my 04 non rev g coupe. so what am i going to need? i already have an sts rear mount with utec but do i need a harness and rev up ecu? and the guy i got the block from is telling me to just use the non rev up heads so i dont have to worry about anything... but wont i be able to make more efficient power with rev up heads since it has vvt? my race gas goals are gonna be well over 800whp so enlighten me

The info you seek is out there..... search is your friend. (all my cool pics are on the other computers)

800whp + Utec =

I'm sure you will love it here. BTW, try sending Alberto or Doug a PM, they usually help the NooBs with build specs.

Words of advice, toss the utec...

You really dont know anything. You are trying to get to 800whp and dont know anything about the motor/ecu.

Ditch the utec and buy a Haltech or HKS F Con V Pro. Matter of fact I have my F con for sale if you are interested.

wrong i just dont know everything about them yet... hence the questions i had a 10 second sti that i built this isnt my first rodeo... im new to nissan and the guy who im picking the block up is a master tech at nissan and hes telling me things like dont use the rev up heads and if i do that i wont need the rev up ecu... which doesnt sound right to me... and i never said i was going to use my utec for the 800+goal i said i have an sts and utec now... we all know im not going to make 800 on a 60-1 rear mount...obviously for those power goals a full standalone will be needed

so if youre not here to help with my questions leave your dumb *** comments out

you can use the revup block but you need some coolant temp plug or something like that from gtm. otherwise you need the revup ecu and harness. i think the plug is like $25

The nissan master tech is correct. Use your current heads and you won't need all that extra stuff. BTW, sell the STS kit and buy a real FI kit with the $$ you save from not buying the revup stuff.

nvm i guess it doesnt
"The Rev Up motor has variable cam timing on both exhaust and intake where as in the non Rev Up is only on the intake side."

so will that even make a difference when i build the motor? with bigger cams etc? or about the same as non rev

most of the other questions were the wrong ones and i think you need to reserach a bit more. For starters....whats highlighted wont work for that goal

the wide bodied 600rwhp who only ran 11.0? idc if i get flamed it seems more of the people on here make jokes instead of answer questions because they dont do any work to their own cars every time i read about a big build its always built by some shop start to finish... i build my own cars and im new to nissan so i want to find out some questions myself
