I had this kit without the test pipes for a while. i recently pulled the motor to put the pipes in and cant get the motor back in bc of the size of the pipes. i could use some help from anyone who has installed this combo before.

drop in the motor then put on the test pipes should be no problems, besides your wrist might hurt when your done because of the angle.

 

i have the motor hanging by a cherry picker. i have the 3.5 test pipes bolted on. turbo blankets installed. test pipes heat wrapped. everything is ready. i just cant get the motor back in with the test pipes all of the ways ive tried. if someone with personaly experience on this instance could chime in i wouild appreciate it. most of you likely do not fathom how tight of a space this is to work with.

Take off the test pipes and put them back on when the engine is in the car.
Even with my dinky 2.5" pipes, we always put them in after the engine was in.
Like Franky said, your wrists will hurt, but other than that, you should be golden.

EDIT: saw that you didnt want to take every thing off, but in the long run, it may be time effective.

this only can happen if the trany is out with the engine, and allso its not easy.

 

the pipes have to be put on when the engine is off otherwise two of the 5 direct turbo bolt nuts cant be torque'd down. also, the tranny IS still atatched. the way the turbo blankets were specially cut around the wastegate actuators and the wrapping was done on the test pipes, its permanenet. i cant take anything off.

the engine, tranny, turbos and test pipes are all assembled and must stay this way. the only possibility is fitting the manifold with turbos test pipes assembled onto the engine after the engine and tranny are already dropped in.

sounds like you in in quite a predicament. you wont take off the pipes and you cant fit your motor.

Last year at the end of October I installed these on a PE TT kit, but it was in my car. Because of the bends, you have to put the top nut on towards the outside on both sides first (.....I believe). I torqued everything down and wrapped everything up. It took some time but then again I installed everything while the engine was still in the car.

 

I installed your same setup with the 3.5s installed but I dropped the motor from the bottom with the tranny installed. It was tight but it went in just the way it came out. It is so hard puttin on those 3.5s by themselves, I had to bend my wrench to get in there same withe the o2s. Thats why I avoided going that route the next time and kept them on for the drop and reinstall. Drop the subframe with the engine and tranny bolt up the subframe and lower your car on to your engine and just make sure that your subframe bolts up, and you should be all good.

nah, ft. hood car shop is a hussle. they nickle and dime you so i do it all in my garage. makes things tougher but you learn more i suppose.
