unfortunatley your understanding is completely wrong the fact was and is that vinny built and designed all of ther engines he drove the pro car to get them ready and to shake them down for both andrew and gary to drive. however at atco raceway gary slamed the car into the wall about 120 feet out and that was the beggining of the end . However that dose not change what vinny did he took that team from 11 second performance to his first attempt at a vq power plant and produced a street tire car that went 8.33 at 176 mph with andrew driving, he was then hired full time as there engine builder and then was made crew chief and the when the cars were done theres was no one with the racing experience so he also became the test driver. he then produced another engine and put it into a pro car that vinny drove it to a 6.63 et and a 215 mph...p.s there are press release s that were sent out at the time that proved all of this as well as many magazine articles to back this up....so before you add your 2 cents you should make sure your facts are correct ...vinny has worked hard and has done great things in this industry as well his unspoken generosity over the years to many, many people, racers , custormers is unequal...yes it was a team effort as in any sport to make the cars get down the track but if your talking who built the engines well the truth is vinny ten racing did and thats a fact!

Hi guys
Can we please not use this thread as a slanging match between Performance Motorsport & Vinnie Tens
I am certainly not qualified to answer who did what in the past & to be 100% honest it is in the past - my relationship is only recent with Performance Motorsport & all i will say is that they have been fantastic in terms of help, assistance & Andrew Rubio is no mug when it comes to understanding & building engines having worked for cosworth etc.
At the end of the day there are always 2 sides to a story but it's in the past & we have the car to run in the present very shortly
We will run it on a test day here in the Uk on August 14th & cannot wait, it will be an easy test day with no major push on bhp or boost levels etc - purely using it as a session to look at suspension settings, datalogging analysis & to get to grips with clutch settings, we also want to play with the ALR boost controller.
The car is going to be mapped on the dyno next week & we have help from Motec here in the Uk + a lot of conversations going on with AET turbos looking at going bigger on the turbos in the future.
We will not start leaning hard on this engine until next year & already have other plans to go bigger on cc in the future.
It would be very nice to see a 6 sec pass in 2009 but we want understanding & reliability first not a 1 pass wonder that we cannot reproduce at competitions.
Exciting times ahead
