I guess its all in how you drive your car no matter how large the injectors are. I drive my car fairly hard but I'm not going ***** out at every stoplight either. As for on the highway I just cruise at around 70-75mph so I'm never in boost so the mileage is good I guess.

Most of my driving is also on the highway 75mph. When I was NA I was getting 28-30mpg and as soon as I went FI I had a major drop in MPG. I'm not really complaining, I just thought wow your MPG stayed the same as stock, and was trying to figure out what the difference was between our two car. All I can come up with was the meth kit, but I don't know if that would improve my fuel efficency.

i guess you didnt see the HKS dyno where it was making more trq than hp and both above 400.

no vortech ever made anywhere near those kinda curves. if that setup could be reproduced by GTM, that would be hands down the best carb legal option.

str8dum1, is that motordyne spacer helping w/ your vortech set up? which one do you have?

any reason why GTM would not be able to reproduce those curves?

When it comes to superchargers you will always see huge difference from car to car due to the intake/exhaust mods. Of course this is caused because the supercharger will always flow the same CFM as the belt setup is setup for. Obviously a turbo will flow as much CFM as needed to create the desired pressure and will there for flow more with a more CFM to create pressure as restriction goes down.

I've seen HKS kits that fall flat on their face half way through the powerband along Vortech's. My setup with a Vortech continues to make power all the way to redline unlike some. However, I have everything I could do to the intake/exhaust minus touching the heads.

If you go through the first two pages of the shop builds there is three or four Vortech setups by GTM, all with good results.

I had the HKS GT charger, was not as loud as the Vortec or Procharger. Never was around a Stillen enough to conpare. The HKS is a great charger IMO, no issues.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever measured your MPG manually...by monitoring mileage and actual gallons of gas put in? I know that my MPG displayed by the car is WAY off now...how would the stock ECU know how much is flowing with different injectors? It won't. I know it messed mine way up. I still read that I'm averaging around 30mpg but my fillups tell me differently...

If you have checked it this way already, wow...i'm impressed.

Yup. total miles / by gallons to refill = mpg

is there a reason u quoted me cause i didn't get it..maybe ur car falls on its face or something, idk...seems like in every thread i see u ..u are bashing vortech but u own a vortech.......there are vortech setups that make very good power these days

Hold your horsies dude...let me add a disclaimer...I can barely hear my Vortech anymore because my exhaust is louder due to my aftermarket exhaust and Hi-flow cats (HFC's), which make your car significantly louder...that being said, the BPV filter helped a lot, too...

SO now, with the filter and my HFC's and exhaust, I can hardly hear the hissing sound at all...sounds NA....even when I boost release you don't hear the PSSSSSH anymore; I was tempted to take out the filter so I could hear that sweet sound again, but I decided to play it safe and keep in on to keep the water out just in case...

I actually used to own a spacer for my g35, but didn't know it also helped in FI, as we're not talking about vacuum based flow restrictions in NA set up vs positive pressure from the blower which should not be that much restricted... Regardless glad it helps.

+1

To answer your question, the Stillen stage 1-3 kit makes no noise when idling.

Stage 4 makes just a littke bit of whine and it's pretty much only when the AC is on.

And as said before, if you do decide to go the Stillen route, go straight to stage 4. I didn't listen and spent way more money by upgrading one stage at a time!!
