I think I recall Tuan saying 14psi yesterday and just assumed this to be true and my eyes were looking at the air/fuel on the right and confirming the 14 when I should of been looking to the left side. I do recall you saying you hit 13 so I have to wonder. I'll just have to watch my boost gauge to know for sure. Wish I had a peak hold on it as I don't want to be starring at my boost gauge when I'm going ***** out, maybe I'll just mount my camera and record it I can't thank you enough for selling me such a great supercharger though! Its brought a smile to my face more times than I can count and I can't wait to get out there with my new setup!
the last time i had my vortech tuned, straight from the tuner's mouth. "wow you just hit 14psi!" i was like eh? in any case, 11psi, 14psi, you are making good power, just enjoy it.

The chart also say's TorqueFLY which seems to indicate as measured at the Flywheel not wheels?? If this is correct the measured values at the wheels would be lower?

If this were the case then I am making less power than I was with my 3.12 and it def. has much more power now.

Guys,

I would like to make it clear that Bryan's car made about 11.5psi by redline. I'd be very unwilling to tune a stock motor at 14psi other my car with stock block or the customer has to sign 10 waiver forms, lol. I'll post up another chart for everyone to see within the next day or two. Dynapacks oddly enough quote flywheel torque but it is basically torque to the wheels(in all case's on the dynapack there are no wheels ). The manufacturer of our dyno are insistant that this is the correct definition and none of the tuners have been able to sway them from making that change.
Bryan, it was a great opportunity for me to have tuned your setup.

Cheers,

Tuan

congrats!!!! welcome to the 400+ vortech club. i am hitting 14psi at 6600 rpm but i am running a off the wall setup for a rev-up ( far from a stock kit ). next upgrade i will be doing is built block ( 10.3:1 pistons ) T-trim, water meth with a 100 shot of nitrous for those times when it is neededi will be shooting for 500rwhp/450 rwtq with out the nitrous. if i cannot accomplish this i will be going with the powerlab kit. BTW my current setup is strictly run on 100 octane fuel!! part of the reason i feel it has stayed together for 5000 plus miles.

who cares how much psi he makes when he's not at risk of rod bending torque, esp if he's not knocking.

why does his graph clearly show almost 15psi then?

makes you question those graphs then if even the tuner says they are not accurate.

I circled the boost line and boost scale in red (its the scale on left)

I circled the A/F line and A/F scale in Blue (its the scale on right)
Enjoy

Did anyone pass a math class with 2-d graphing here???

Nice power! I'm waiting to get my ssv installed and switching to the 2.87 as well. Are you running any fuel return system?

Thanks!
No fuel return. Just DW 600's and a Walboro.

Yea the graph is blurry I know. I just took pictures of it with my camera and that's the best I quality I could get. Tuan is going to post or email me digital quality graphs so it will be much easier to read.

wow, i thought you were running a RFS. Shows you a RFS may be over kill for low 400 power levels on a vortech. i am running a RFS with 550 injectors so i have room to grow in the future when i decide to up the power output.

i wasnt the only one that thought it said 14 psi.

LOL

regardless, my point still stands. PSI means nothing, its a measure of backpressure. its trq and knock that break motors, not boost. So having a tuner say he wouldnt tune 14 psi on a stock block is silly.
