I really want to know what went wrong. Sharif said he would start pulling the car apart ASAP....He also wants to know what caused it to fail. Maybe because the car has not been driven much


The motor is fine...That was the first think Sharif checked.

The car will still boost....the problem is..you can hear a sound coming from the passanger side turbo. Sharif, Mad Scientist (Jkenefic) and a few others feel that when the turbo is removed ..and you play with the turbine...you will find alot of play....How that happened is what I would like to know. Having the car sitting for a long time should not cause that problem.

When I had the 700BB's on the car...it sat for 7 months without an issue

Call Sharif at the end of the week....he should have the motor inspected by then.

BTW.....Thanks for putting on the event....even though it rained out....it was good to see the gang again. Congrats to The Mad Scientist, Raj and Paul....your cars sound great with big numbers. Luie....You are a true friend for trusting me with your 70K M3 Beast....What can I say about that car that has not already been said...Bad Azz...I know Raj did not like the stunts I was pulling behind him going down the hills....Paul ( Toast) though it was too funny.

Next year ( if I heard correctly ) The airstrip event will become part of ZdayZ That would be great.

Last time I saw that car was on the AKA last year where we performed a brake job on day one in NY and a Turbo swap (in the parking lot of a hotel in Columbus, Ohio) on day 2. LOL Good times!

 

That NSX was fast as hell.....He stayed with the GTR

XKR, your car was looking gorgeous, even if it didn't run - had the spotlight at ZdayZ sitting up near the Forged tent. And no worries with running the M3 behind me - had no idea what you were doing but it was just an incentive to pull away. I don't know what it is, but it seems you're always looking at my tail lights bud! lol Look forward to next year.

I really wanted to run that NSX - would've been a good race seeing how well it did against the GTR.

You should see the one the guy who built his owns and built. The whole trunk area was cut out to fit the basketball sized turbo in it. It's rediculous. Unfortunately the only pics I have from the parking lot Turbo swap on his and his buddies ridiculous NSX monstrosity are on my phone and too small to post up and see anything really.

 

He's in ATL rcdash. Let me know if you really wanna do a fun run with him and Ill get you his number. He's always out having fun in that car.

Ill prob see him again at the end of July in Savannah for the beginning of this years AKA run.

+1 Luie,... thanks for allowing Mike and I to take your M3 out for a spin. That is one smooth machine, it got more attention than most of the Z/G cars out there. Exhaust sounds fantastic on that car.

I was laughing so hard my side still hurts with Mike driving it behind Raj. I would not have wanted to be in front of Mike on that road. What was even better was the ride back with Luie driving the M3 and Sharif up front leading the charge ---- Wow, I will never forget that ride, great memories ! You can't hear yourself think with Sharif's GTR wailing away at you from the front and then Luie revving the M3 out to 8000rpm, thats one ride to definitely remember

 

I'll have to drop you a note next time I'm headed down to Forged! Maybe we can hit the drag strip up north a bit on 85.

Jorge, I don't think anyone had their cameras mounted yet. I know Sharif got some vids through the mountains, which I'm dying to see. The sky took a dump on us just as we prepared for the competitive racing.

 

Good times! You left your hand grip imprint on my door handle from griping so much on the ride, back. Mike thnaks for shifting your body with the turns in the back seat it really helped..LOL
