Brown FINALLY delivered yesterday.
Everything looked good! Pipes are huge n shiny and not to mention the intercooler (biggest Ive ever ran) plus everything labeled. Wish I had a parts list to check everything that I'm not missing anything...
After reading EVERY Powerlab thread, Utec manual and doing other important research, I can start getting things done. Below is a list of what I have and what's already installed on my 03 Z w/ 37K miles.

I have a turbo blanket, with about 4+ rolls or DEI exhaust wraps and 3 cans of DEI silicone coating and metal clamps and a few OEM Nissan Clips (these things break easily). Haven't decided what engine oil I am going to try yet, need to refil coolant and powersteering fluid...simple stuff

So while waiting on the PL kit I installed FPR, ran fuel return line and whatever needs to be done to fuel pump assembly, minus walbro pump. I also installed the spark plugs, and installed the injectors last night when I got home. I havent received the instructions yet as i understand these are to be emailed to me...? Tonight I will be tackling the AC lines, heat wraps, maybe the oil pan spacer and whatever small things I can do now till the weekend with instructions.

I'll be doing this by myself so it will take me a while to get it done while working 12-15hr days, 6 days a week. Dont want to rush by any means.

Objective: Be close as possible to 400hp on stock block for now. Street reliable. Track when I have time. Enemy to other beaters on the street in my area. No winter driving. Decent in the heat and long runs.

Are there any other things I might need to get? Or maybe things that you might reccomend? Do I really need a boost controller now? If so I'm looking into the HKS EVC VI. I'll try to post pics as I go and as request.

Looks like you got all your bases covered!! And no, you do not need a boost controller, but you can install one if you want. You just have to resist the urge to turn up the boost!

Damn! I didn't see the post took up half a page. LOL. Shouldve previewed before posting. But thanks. I was thinking I didn't really need the BC now being that the block is stock and around 400 is what ive seen/heard is sorta safe...if I even reach that when I dyno.

Nice looking build! 400 to the wheels will be EASY with your setup... I made that with 6 lbs of boost!!

congrats, nice project. Consider maybe getting a quality turbo blanket(dont get somethign that makes your engine looks like a hooker ).
I would stick with spring pressure for boost for now(u should be able to meet your goals with that)....and later on if you upgrade to standalone then consider boost controller. Haltech and Proefi have build in functionality(utec does too but ..errrr..not sure of VIpec but i think so, Vpro requieres use of external EBC) so you wont have to get the HKS EVC unit.... you can consider all that along with bigger injectors next year when you build your block.

 

^^Thanks!! But yeah I purchase a VS Racing turbo blanket for $125. It's pretty sturdy. They come in black and silver. I got the black one. Yeah I'm thinking spring pressur would be fine for now...Till I get a tune and see what I'm working with.

 

Ok. Started a few things since the post. Heat wrapped everything I could, installed the fuel pump, removed AC lines and installed the monsters from the kit, oil pan spacer, pick-up spacer and oil pan.
Then it was time to start fitting the up pipes which took forever. I already had cats and y-pipe removed earlier. If you are going to use heat wrap, prepare for a headache! It makes everything seems as it they done fit. Finally got them in but I started
from the rear with the first pipe (middle) which stops by the oil pan then the second pipe (up) links pretty easy. The only problem is I have a part thats suppose to be bolted somewhere but dont see where
its suppose to bolted. Well I'll figure it out. Things are coming along slowly...no rush Cross over pipe also installed. Down Pipe is very difficult to fit. Now Im thinking I shouldn't have wrapped everything. So much for wanting to being cool. The AC line makes it impossible.

Looks good!! Your downpipe looks like a bundled up little baby! hahaha

 

Just reading Jeffie's thread and in post 53 he said he had to remove the 02 sensor from the driver side manifold and move it to the downpipe. It is not in the instructions (as well as alot of other things) but is this absolutley necessary and if so, why?
The downpipe has 4 holes, one at the top and 3 in the middle close together. I was planning on putting (front to rear) my EGT at the top and then wideband, then driver O2 and passenger O2. Is there anything wrong with this setup?

 

Do you have to wrap the ac line with this kit. I noticed it's pretty long.
