It's at ICS... believe me, I know plenty about both shops. And you already know about my past issues.
George seemed pretty comfortable about taking care of the problem. We'll see what happens.

Damn those stains look like the result of a huge exhaust leak. Would explain why you're not boosting. You have many issues with your car, I hope that your shop can sort everything out for you.

Update:
I spoke to my buddy that's working on the car over at ICS. There were some fried wires connected to the battery, probably from the last time the car was jumpstarted.
As far as the starting issue, he thinks it's the actual starter itself, as the flywheel appears to be in good shape. One of the turbos sit very close to the starter and it may have fried it.

I don't think an exhaust leak would cause my having no boost, but we'll see. He's working on getting the new starter installed right now. The boosting issue is next on the list after getting the car to start.

Thanks. The starter has already set me back $400
, so I'm very anxious to find out what needs to be done next.

Believe me, I will. I didn't want to post up any conclusions just yet, but I have the same feeling.
In fact, I've checked around and there's no way they paid $400 for a starter.
ICS at its best.

^ Though he did say that he checked the crank sensor, and it was fine. I'm going to pass by the shop after work and follow up on the progress.
I just got off the phone with the Darien Stealership and they quoted $330 for the starter. All hell might break loose at ICS today.

This is why I do most of my own mechanical work.
I try to avoid specialty shops like a plague if I can
because of situations like this.
Car not starting is pretty basic mechanics.
Now if it had something to do with the EMS tuning that's something different
but even turbo's are fairly basic that a competent mechanic should be able to handle.
Sorry to hear that they trying to pull the wool over your eyes
.
