Default ???? Brand new clutch slipping?

hey i had the ATS twin disc clutch and it went out so i got the exedy twin installed today and it was fine for the first 10 miles or so and now its slipping also ?

what could be the problem here?

Are you breaking them in?? No boost for the first few hundred miles. If it slips and you spin the friction disc's you can glaze the surface and ruin the clutch??

+1 on ruining the clutch.

also, carbon discs will slip before they are at operating temp. but you should not be doin anything besides stop and go city traffic for the 1st 500 miles anyhow

i assume your doing your break in (oh god please do it lol)

also as stated above, it has to get hotter than a normal clutch to operate effectively

They always slip the first couple pulls over 500whp. Especially in colder weather. (I recently found this out first hand)


So just warm it up and it will start grabbing. These clutches work the exact opposite of a normal clutch when it comes to heat.
