when i put the fork and the throw out bearing on the tranny i did not snap the little ball behind the fork... my old tranny the little ball was broken off. but everything worked fine. i tried snapping the ball behind the fork but it wasnt going in.. thats y i left it like that.. but i guess it is in fact supposed to be there?

could this be the reason why the slave cylinder is not retracting? if so... then i'll pull tranny out and do that.

ok before i pulled the tranny you can see inside right behind the fork and you can see the little ball is in place... no need to pull the tranny.

any other suggestions? pressure plate too tight??? bolts too tight?

update: just found out there are different forks. and i think im using the wrong one. mine is hollow and the bolt on the tranny is not tall enought so i have to replace the fork for a thicker fork so it can match up with the bolt (ball)

If you are dropping the tranny just get the pivot ball from the dealer. You most likely need the one from a 300zx. It's about 1.5" long. I have the same one on my Z. They just unscrew from inside the housing. You may have to change more than just the fork.

HEY.. thanks for the help btw!!!

this is what happened on the tranny:

my old tranny was grinding, my buddy had a cd009 tranny which he thought was giving him issues, but in fact it was his clutch not the tranny. he took that tranny apart to see if there was anything wrong with it but it was fine. he sold me the cd009 in pieces and all i had to do is use a few parts from my old tranny and piece everything together.

when i took my tranny out that pivot ball was broken, so i used the one from his cd009 but i reused my old fork... now i got the fork that goes with that pivot ball and i will be replacing that tomorrow and bleeding the coolant system!! hopefully that will let me drive the car!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that would be my first place to start. The 009 tranny pivot ball and fork are suppose to help with the fix of the trans tearing up. Just get whatever parts you need to make it work and GL.
