Default Help, Drive Train/Clutch problems.

I'm hoping posting here will catch the eyes of some of the more knowledgeable people. Mods please do not move if possible.

Here is the short version of the story. Took the car to the drag strip. Preloaded the tranny, launched at 4500rpm, and wheel hopped a bit. I left off and got back into it. shifted into second then all hell broke loose. it popped out of gear and i couldnt get it back into any gear while coasting down the track.

One I got off the track it started to respond a bit better and I could get it into gear but not without grinding. One big thing is that the clutch, which is usually stiff as hell is now very soft. It grinds the worst going into 1st and 2nd. The car drives fine with no funny noises otherwise.

Just trying to figure out what I'm gonna need to buy and replace.

Summary:
- F'd something up going launching the car at the strip
- clutch pedal is very soft now and it grinds going into all gears
- car drives fine other than grinding heavily going into every gear.
- no funny noises, fluid leaks or smells.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Is it grinding in any of the other gears? How many miles are on the clutch?

Man, I broke my 3rd gear, so I feel your pain bro.. I don't think your clutch is fully disengaging.. Check your clutch master and slave cylinder first before dropping your tranny. Do you have a stainless steel clutch hose? If not, you might want to check if the stock rubber hose is bulging. Good luck!

Check for leaks around the slave cylinder and master cylinder, check for bulges in the rubber line going to the cylinder for bulges and ballooning. lastly check to see if you can freely move the fork arm that holds your throw out bearing. if you service your clutch fluid annually it sounds like you might have blown your throw out bearing.
