YES! I think if you go ahead and get some headwork done and throw some decent cams in there you should have a reliable beast thats putting down close to if not more than 500whp on a DJ and you'll have sick spool up time/mid range power as well as decent top end.

TheMinel .. Looking at your block I can see gasket residue which to indicates
it wasn't decked. It would have a shine from the machining after being decked.
All it amounts to is when decked is that the block mating surface is true and a
finish that is best for the type of headgasket used.

but surely they wouldn't deck it until they were ready to but it back together, which, if their were valve issues, they would want to resolve, before decking and reassembly, no?

Checked with the shop and Cosworth has confirmed there is no need for re-decking, they actually (the shop) advised against it for a series of reasons they mention in my correspondence.

All I want is that the builder is happy with their own building process, so that they will be responsible for anything that can happen afterwards.

headwork is now out of the question, as it would throw my budget out of the window, quite frankly. next time

Cams: again I'm not too convinced to get them to be honest. Think I'm going to have a spare set of heads, so could get them fixed/ported at leisure then in a second moment if I feel the need for more power, I'll do both...

UPDATE: (ish)

I'm stuck because Nissan Europe don't know how to manage their stock... they assured all the lifters we needed were in stock in Amsterdam, when 1 was missing. It's ordered from Japan, been waiting for 3 weeks

See this thread for details, can you help??

thanks, I've contacted Courtesy (the price is also amazing, I paid £52+VAT each, and I needed 12!) so hopefully they'll get back to me saying they have it in stock! No point getting it ordered as I already have, ahah

The link is not the full part number though, it's slightly different. Will also ring them, wonder if they are open now on Saturdays!

just did (also tried searching via their website with just the part number and it does come up fine, also checked with one of their guys), ordered part, should be with me by the end of next week as they have to get it from Tennessee apparently.

As per other thread, thanks Jay

My mom finally got her car back the other day. For some reasone the b/c won't go higher than 8psi (PE one)

- PETT
- Arias Extreme Duty pistions 9.0:1
- Eagle forged H-Beam rods
- Cosworth Tri-Metal race bearings
- Power Enterprise head gaskets
- L19 head studs
- ARP Main studs
- Technosquare reflash
- 630cc siemens injectors
- Altered Atmoshere Complete Fuel Return system
- Unorthodox underdrive pully set
- plenum spacer
- aftermarket down pipes w/ heat wrap
- stock heads

made 405... which isn't too bad

she is taking back in and i guess getting manual boost controller put on, b/c her PE boost controller won't go past 8psi anymore.

actuator springs!!! (I think), don't the std springs only allow a very small amount of boost, which is for the kit on std internals?
