Default *stage 1 results in* PE TT kit, Cosworth internals etc

Hi guys,

finally my shop started working on my Z. They stripped down the engine and now the block is at the machine shop. They should start rebuilding it next week. Once finished I'll post up full details of parts, etc. It'd be great to get to 500hp at the hubs once broken in and tuned, but we'll see

Had my Z since new, so it's been a long journey (5 years), just hope I'm not going to regret it

I'm a bit baffled by the piston clearance issue, but we'll see Link to my other thread

Motor looks great - congrats on the build. I was originally thinking a PE TT kit wouldn't net you 500 whp esp with no headwork and no cams but perhaps with race fuel and/or W/M you could hit it.

Philthy upgraded his PE kit turbos with GT28s and got 475 on Sharif's DD dyno, which is about 520 on a DJ. So there's always that upgrade option if you fall a bit short of your goals.

thanks for that, will keep it in mind.

TBH I'm not too concentrated on the numbers, I'll see what the build does as planned and I've always got the route of a Cosworth plenum or even as you suggest different turbos if/when I will want more power!

wow good luck. you'll enjoy it!

just picked up my car... built engine and pe tt as well... i wil make a thread soon.

at 7psi i'm @ low 4xx rwhp on a mustang dyno... but man the torque comes in so early. She feels completely different from my turbonetics setup in the past, much smoother and feels like OEM. the UPREV might also be a factor in that tho

this is my old kit before i upgraded to gtm tt. i would strongly recommend u to use big cams to maintain the top end hp because at these power level as u can see the in the link below the power start to drop off at 5 to 5500 rpm, other than that its my fav kit fast spool and monster tq at low end.

hope this help link

your spec list from the thread is indeed not far off from mine!

I'll see what I get without cams, I know if I decide to get them I'll have to pay a good few hours labour to open the engine up again, but that's what I have decided... also I was thinking with a Cosworth plenum vs the spacer I have now it should potentially increase numbers with less labour, if I feel the need for it?

For some reason I'm not too keen on cams

no prob man... just finished breaking in the new motor and clutch so I'll try and make time to start my own thread. so far so good.

have you looked into running water lines to help in cooling the turbos? I have that setup on my car.
