Turbonetic kit should be much easier to install then the powerlab....

just looking at the plus sides.....

btw, if you look around the used market you might find a whole turbonetics kit for much much less then 40% off.

ok sorry i get it 40% off and thought it was a good deal guys, ive seen many of these kits work perfectly last for 20,000 miles on the stock reflash tune and the kits at 8 psi last forever.

they start to break and have problems when they are tuned for more psi then the should be which anything over 8 is more then they should be yes alot of people on here get boost happy and try to do more and get them tuned for max power which will make them have problems.

so from what you guys are saying is that even if i keep the boost low do everything i can to increase cooling i will still have problems?

If you keep everything on your car 100% stock outside of basic exhaust you should be ok, just be sure you are getting it water cooled, and, DO NOT raise the boost.

Once you do get the reflash done, do not drive using any boost unless you dyno the car to confirm the correct A/F ratios.

If you ever plan on upgrading stuff down the road, even if its 2-3 years later. Skip the Turbonetics kit.

ok thanks for the help man i do plan on keeping the bost low and i do not plan on doing anything else to the car after this and i already do have hks true duel exhaust which i will be fabbing a custom y pipe for after i get the kit probably. any advice on doing this?

and by water cooled you mean water injection right?
do you think it would be possible to just do what subaru does and get water spray that i can spray on the intercooler via windsheild wiper sprayer when it starts to heat soak?

Don't change anything on the turbonetics kit even if its just the end of the downpipe/dump tube,, get a different exhuast if that's the issue. Just dont do it. don't mod it.

Water cooled meaning the turbos. There's an update to run water lines.

Just remember, Turbonetics out of the box is VERY limited.

There's a lot of other options that are much better choices. Just search it and you'll see 234909240 threads about it.

People are quick to jump in this thread because you clearly didn't bother searching since you would have found many threads to answer every question you could ever have.

Its not always about the psi or performance factor. How about welds cracking. Thats anothe thing to talk about. IF you are doing the work yourself, then you can save alot of money with installation, troubleshooting and welding broken welds... If you are paying someone to work on your car, dont get the TN KIT.

2 main areas where the weldes crack is the wastegate/uppipe conjuction and the brackets that hold the uppipes.

i do plan on doing the work myself with the help of a freind who is an extreamly good welder on all types of metels and he would do the work for free.

but dang all this stuff is making me not want to boost it at all because i don't really want to spend almost twice as much for the powerlab and it looks harder to install thats why i was really planning on the TN kit but forced induction cheap and reliable arn't ment to be together so i prob just won't boost it unless i hit lotto or something.

Doug, you have a powerlab kit? have you installed one? A single might be my next option.

If you wait a couple of weeks, I'll let you know how the Momentum ST is.

No idea what the price is going to be yet.

well i haven't been able to actually see the instructions manual for the PL kit but the placement and everything seems alot harder to get in and i don't know anything about the Utec or how to install it im just assuming its harder because they say 15 hours instead of 10-12 and i was wanting to get my car back on the road as soon as possible for work.

TN kit took me 12 hours to install by myself only. Powerlab kit took me 6 hours to install by myself, already had injectors and fuel pump installed. The fuel return took longer to install then the PL kit. The PL kit has way less piping then the TN kit. All the piping fell right into place. Didn't really even need a manual. But had to retap everything, dent the second down pipe to clear the transmission and refab the third down pipe to get it to mate with my exhaust. Also crapy hose clamps. Kit should come standard with T bolt clamps. And the coolant overflow resivor is a joke. I miss my windshield washer tank too. Over all I am happy with Powerlab.

The PowerLab kit is way easier to install then the Turbonetics kit. And it is a much better design.

Theres been plenty of people that have DD their Zs with the TN kit. Sure its not the best for power, but its not all really that bad. I'm enjoying mine for the time being.
