Good morning all, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to the force induction people. I’m new to this forum but a seasoned vet to the car game. I would like to believe that I’m quite car savvy but my tuner might say otherwise (sup Dave.) LOL I’m a friendly person and love to talk about cars, chicks and beer! Now that I’m done with my “AA introductory speech” I’ll leave the floor open for comments and or questions.
I haven’t taken any pictures of the car yet as it is still in the works. As far as the girl goes I think it would be highly inappropriate to post a picture of my palm! LOL

Are you gonna be at Function:Tuned this sunday for the bikini car wash event?

I’m going to try and make it out. I’ve been looking at your signature and I’m really looking forward to seeing your setup. I pretty much have the same stuff you have minus the regulated boost. If I do make it there I’ll have a bunch of questions for you. Do you have a dyno slip that I could take a look at? I just want to see how the regulated boost effected your low and mid range power and how are you dealing with heat issues?

Sounds good! You can check out my car all you want! In terms of questions I can try to answer as much as I could. Dave at Function Tuned was the one that came up with the design, did the mechanical work and tuning so he'd be able to tell you everything. I do have some over heating issue pass 6000 rpm as you can see in the dyno slip that power starts to drop pass that. The plan was to get a better intercooler to solve that. But due to the special procharger piping design being that both pipes are routed to the same side of the intercooler, I'd have to get some custom fabbed pipes to re-route that to one pipe on each side if I want another intercooler. Wayyyy too much work and not enough funding so it never happened. I just try not to redline the car and it'd been working out just fine

Here's the dyno slip on Dave's DD.
I can’t see the picture, damn government computers. Have you thought about meth to solve that heating prob? I just got off the phone with ATI and I was highly upset to find out that the 22psi they claim the SC can produce is wrong. I talked to Todd in the repair dept (my SC is being rebuilt) and he told me that the max PSI on that SC is 15…WTF. I was planning on running 22psi and regulating it @ 10. At what RPM do you hit max PSI? Thanks for answering my questions, I’ve been really thinking about doing this setup but I want to make sure that I weigh out the pros and cons. Also what type of bypass valve are you running? I’ve just recently (3 months ago) changed my bypass valve to the synapse engineering BOV. OMG, it practically eliminated compressor surge and highly improved throttle response.

Yes I have thought about meth to solve the heating problem. But then I'd have to deal with different options on when to spray and what triggers the spray. It would be the cheaper solution compared to getting a new intercooler. Eventually I'll get there. Any 22psi?!! They must be on cr@ck. With 15psi pulley I was shredding front cog belts like a paper shredder. With the AAM brace designed by Frank Hill things got a lot better but the belt still wears out every few weeks (If I drive hard that is). I can't imagine any belt that'd hold 22psi... I'm using the Bosch surge/bypass system that came with the kit. Did the Synapse engineering BOV really make that big of a difference? I was told that it makes some ridiculously loud/unpleasant noise. But if it really helps throttle response I might have to consider it.
Oh and it starts to drop power at around 5800rpm to be specific.
bb1314----I’m not sure if a meth kit actually works that way, (as far as different points to spray.) I’ve recently purchased the AEM Meth Kit and to my understanding it’s progressive and linear to boost. Correct me if I’m wrong. The Synapse engineering BOV really did make that much of a difference for me anyway. I never had the stock bypass on my kit so I’m not sure how the stock one works; but in comparison to the one I had the Synapse BOV is just nasty. When cruising, the BOV can be quite loud but it still sounds nasty. The best part is when you actually step on it; my boost gauge damn near instantly jumps to 5PSI. When cruising there is no surge (maybe a slight exaggeration but surge is minimal) and you can hear all the air that is not being used, dumped. I don’t want to come off like the Synapse engineering sales rep but it is a good product.
