How hot does the compressor get? Granted I live in texas and its about 90 something degrees. I just drove the car around for about 5mins and the compressor is very hot. It is equal to about placing your hand on intake manifold after the car has warmed up and been driven..
Is this normal, I remember reading the sticky, it said you should be able to touch it....

Also, i have an rattle/vibration at idle? I know some people say it is normal, but...

 

umm... have you touched your strut bar on a warm day after driving your Z around for a bit? even that gets hot to the touch. its normal man and so the rattle.

 

lol, yeah. Just wanna make sure man. I was going over the vortech sticky..

 

It would even get hot in Alaska. Need to hear the rattle to determine if it is in line with others..

 

as long as there is no high pitch squealing it's probably normal. did you bump up your idle?

oh yeah mine gets hot too!

eez-No I have not bump up my idle.

 

all of them rattle at idle. it has a gearbox so that's what is making noise. I think mine is more towards a gear sound than a "rattle".

They get hot. It's been over 100 here this last week and mine has gotten pretty hot. It's hot enough i can touch it, but not keep my hand on it.

 

The oil from your engine is running through it so yea its going to get pretty hot plus the ambient heat inside the engine bay with your hood down.

 

You can not even leave your hands on top of hood, what do you think under there.

Rattle from blower? or where?
