Default max boost on 1 BOV??

Hey guys,

at what boost level do you need to consider going from 1x 50mm BOV to 2x BOV?

If you are going to run ~30 psi, would you want 2 BOV's to prevent compressor surge.

I know Jkenefic has 2 on his yellow Z and all the shop race cars do.

Its one of those things where its easier to get another vband flange welded before a kit goes on.

Thanks!

running a single Tial here (mounted to IC end-tank) and I see 30psi (usually bout 25psi on street but not unheard of to have me at 30psi trolling around) hehehehehe

so you dont here compressor surge when you get off it at 30 psi?

guess that answers my question as the 3 bar sensor only goes to 29 psi

can't really hear much of anything actually. Just pssssssssttt.

And the Tial is pretty quiet even when coming off of 30psi.

op do take note that alot of the tt kits have 2 inlets as well as 2 outlets, hence 2 bovs.

evos run 30pis constantly(alot do) and the turbosmart one i know for a fact hold that without fail and the hks starts to leak around 25ish(stock holds it more efficently) and are usually swapped. However i am not sure if displacement has an affect on psi(pressure is pressure) threshold but ive heard it plays a part.

Tials do have some hefty springs though

It is not a question of psi but rather CFM. Running 30psi on an evo is not that same as running 30psi on a Z since pressure is a measure of restriction and does not indicate a volume. OP, what horsepower level are you looking to be at?

figure normal Z power. 15psi @600 hp, 29 psi at xxx hp.

and the only cars with 2 BOV's would be a HR motor with 2 TB's. None of the non-rev or rev-up kits come with 2 BOv;s bc there is only 1 TB.
