Default Why you should do your own wiring

Pull the glove box and this falls out:

Always had a intermittent misfire so I finally broke down and replaced the entire engine harness(it had been messed while trying to fix the misfire) and rewired everything else that had been installed.

The only reason some mess is still present is I tried not to cut up the EVC/AFK/Fcon/Defi/Camp2 harness anymore then they had been

OMG I would have a **** fit if I found that my wiring had looked that messed up; but it seems a hell of a lot better since you have re-wired it... Good job buddy!

This is the scariest thread title... I could post thousands of pictures of why people should not do their own wiring. Every time I think I have seen it all I get a new surprise.

Holy Hell, that is terrible. That is just plain laziness right there on the part of the installer. Or inexperience, which is even scarier.

How much did the new harness cost you and where did you get it? I was having a weird problem as well and was thinking about replacing the whole harness too

Just wanted to clarify that Lane, Mark and Eric from SGP did all the original wiring and work on the car and it was later messed with by another employee who left shortly after they installed the EVC5 and AFK which is the mess and the problem first surfaced. So hopefully we can drop that now.

Tuning for final numbers soon

OMG - what a mess. Not many shops would stay in business with that kind of work. The title is really only applicable if you know what you're doing when it comes to wiring. I'm pretty picky about wiring and examined everything the tech at my shop did and I was impressed with the quality work - all soldered connections, heat shrinked tubing, well wrapped, and neatly tucked.
