^^theres no problem with the car, its just the heat i beleive being right off the headers and near the engine bay and all, they just cant take the heat and boost imo and are made by magnaflow most likely like most others do such as berk

I saw Chef's car while I was there getting my car tuned again. That HFC was melted no doubt. If you ever looked into one, and see it all wrapped in there, this was like in a black ball, all inside of it. No way to even get it out if he wanted too.

IMHO that cat came loose from the sides and started to come apart. That to me is a quality issue of the cats themselves. But at least with TPs you got it solved. I had them turn off my O2 sensors to not throw codes anymore if I wanted to go to TP eventually.

It is really hard to believe it is quality issue, because if it was poor quality, i'm sure jared could gut that out. We'll see, it is very interesting. Plus hope it didn't hurt the engine...

Interesting story... Thanks for keeping up with everything and letting us know what was going on...

I've had Crawford high flow cats for two years... I've never noticed anything odd about them, but your post makes me think I at least want to check them out.

Did your exhaust make different sounds on the two different pipes? Was driver's side exhaust quieter for instance?

Had struggle sounds since day one ( Driver side, which it melted down ) But it is hard to say that cat caused that problem. Because my second tuned was about month before dropped off car at uprev. Second tuner chris showed me A/F and etc on dyno/tuned, which it didn't run any lean or any trouble sig.

I really have no idea how this happend and when. I also really wants to know. Since compression test has been done before dyno and Ultimate racing told me if metal cat melted down, car ran really lean which means bad for engine. I really hope this happend before compression test.

I asked jared to keep that HFC on the side, so i can look at it. I will post up pictures once i receive it.

you can burn out HFC if you are running too lean and EGTs are too high. but this just sounds like manufacturer failure.

Best run was 425 on their dyno, and jared is still tunning it. Now sounds about right.

Also, jared cut down a lot $ from my final bill...
