Arrow Part 3: Uprev is Fixing and tunning my SC Z...

Part 1: Hal@IP tuned (3.12/utec)
Part 2: Chris Macellaro tuned(2.87/utec)
Part 3 is comming...( 2.87/Osiris )

Not about build motor yet But here is my processing story, but let's make it short.

2 weeks ago, i sent my car to uprev. Jared and i talked about sell the kit or keep the kit, we decided to start from compression/leak test. After couple days, jared told me test came out really good, so i decided to keep the SC and asked jared to handle it for me.

Here is things changed.
Installed/replaced
- GTM RFS ( no rails, like other company stage 0 kit. GTM has little diff setup for their stage 0. What i got is not on their website, but you can call and ask them about it. )
- Modif MAF sensor
- new rotors/pads
- New TB ( nothing wrong with old one )
- tunning via osiris.

Removed
- Snow performance kit
- Utec

Yesterday, i got a text message from jared about good/bad news.
Good news was jared fixed my rough idle which was biggest issue for me. And...bad news is Jared can only get the power up to 320 whp then it starts to ping/detonate. Now jared is going to do some more trouble shooting to figure it out. Hopefully i can hear good news from him soon.

Thanks to uprev guys, especialy jared...
I appreciate that understand my situation and helping me out. I really do...

Problems after problem...First time FI, i might not have a luck with FI, but i think i have a luck with tuners/sponsors.

I'm still around...will update it soon.

Edit: Dyno sheet On page 5

Should have kept the meth. It's helps out a lot with SC's.

Good luck with it chef, you have went through more EMS's then me.

So you're ditching the UTEC completely and just use the stock ECU with the Osiris tune? INteresting... I want to see how this one goes. A local shop in Mid-A is starting to do a lot of Osiris tune on N/A cars and they all were very satisfy with the result especially on what they call the "partial throttle tune". I wonder how well this will work on FI'ed cars.

That would TERRIFY me using a reflash. There is no knock detection over 5k rpms. If you are knocking enough below 5k for him to kill the power like that, you can kiss your motor goodbye in short order. You could be pinging like mad at "I guess this is safe timing above 5k" and never know!

Good luck with that. Personally, I would never ditch a UTEC for a flash. Now, flash + utec that's my style and what I'm running now. No knock protection = boom boom time.

A local shop (same one maybe?) is doing Osiris on FI as well. Making good power too, but still I can't sleep without knock protection. You might only get one bad tank of gas in your FI career, but that's all it takes.

Jared thinks there is messed up injectors or something. But needs more trouble shooting.

I'm also intersting in result.

Had osiris reflash + Utec and now osiris. I can not comment anything about osiris yet, since i didn't even get to see my car yet. But i will update with how it turns out and etc.

You need to come out to meets more often. I want to check out your car more, especially since you changed some things.

Lower intake temps, higher compression, more timing safely and more knock retard with the meth injection. I can see power going down for removing that.

You get good benefits from W/M kit, also there is risk. If it can be done safety without W/M kit, i didn't feel like to take that risk ( especially in hot weather area. During day time, my W/M gets really hot and night time it gets warm...) But i would love to install aquamist kits in future when i'm ready to go bigger power.

I'm not looking for more power at this time. More focus on reliable for FI DD.

Jared ordered new DW injectors from his pocket to just test it out ( Thanks jared ). He will contact IP if that turns out to be problem, so IP can get them replaced under warranty.

Your posts in other threads moved me away from a simple reflash controlling my FI...ended up going Haltech with Osiris flash.

+1 UNLESS Uprev has compensated for this knock protection with some update, it is scary to have it as the only only big brother on-board.
