greddy 20G vs APS Extreme vs SFR
Just like the title says im looking for the good the bad and the ugly of all three of these kits. I was wondering if anyone had any facts about them so we can run them head to head.
Im looking to have mid to upper 600whp daily and be in the 700's on c16.
Things to compare
-Cost
-Efficency
-bottlenecks
-strong points
-etc.....
i'm leaning towards teh APS extreme because it has the fuel system.

you do know there are other options too right.....like ones that give even more flexibility......(and i.e....if you can do upper 600's daily without blowing.....700's will happen on 100 octane........but you better have a damn good tune and build....so we need motor info, ems, and tuner too)
also mid-upper 600's is more than just the turbo kit...
What are your motor build plans and by who?
Also you are better off going with a different fuel system than you are thinking with the kit...(i.e. SP, CJM, Forged, Injected...are all far superior than what aps offers)

Scroll Up, and look for this amazing little button that says "Search"
With 1 other thread + poll going on exactly about 20g vs xxx...
And fyi if you did a search you would find Alberto saying in the other thread that the 18g will support 600whp and even go up to 700whp.
Go figure what searching can yield, information that could save you THOUSANDS!

w00t!
Just search around and you will find the 18g should be able to give you all the power you need, especially if you do a little head work.

I will have GTM or Forged do all the work and tuning.
The motor will be a short block unsleeved. pauter / arias .020 over
arp L19
cosworth bearings
GTM stage 3 cams
head port and polish
springs,retainers,shims valves
EMS
Im torn between HKS FCON VPro, Haltec, and Pro EFI.
i guess my biggest thing is i want to make the most power with the least amount of boost. i would rather have to spool 15 psi rather than 19 or more. I feel like maxing out a turbo isnt as efficeint as running a larger turbo at its peak effciency and not its peak work capacity.

The SFR kit offers a great intercooler solution for the g35 but comes with no tuning
The APS comes with center mount intercooler but has full fuel return system with double pump.
GTM kit - center mount - tuned with a flash (very cost effective) - top notch
Greddy 20g - longer spool - is a tuner kit

The SFR setup, due to its tubular manifold and merge collectors will offer the highest HP potential / RPM potential of the three.
MOst people don't think about the pressure between the turbine and the cylders head. The pressure greatly affects the ultimate top end performance and RPM capabilities of a turbo system.
With the cast "log style" manifolds, you will achieve faster spool up time, but it will cost you at the top end. If you aren't really pushing high rpms (well past the stock RPM limits), you may not notice a thing. If you are building a motor to push well past 8000 rpms, the log style manifolds will hurt you. that includes the greddy, GTM, APS, and HKS manifolds. Some of those manifolds are better than others, but ultimately, none of them compare to the power potential of a properly designed tubular manifold with a merge collector.
It depends on what you goals are. The log manifolds are very comapct and makes packaging of the turbos nice and tight. you can make big power with them and , usually, the cast manifolds last longer too. If you are looking to blow people away, the SFR tubular manifold is the way to go. For example, just go look at any serious race motor......you won't find a cast "log" on a single one of them!

these threads are very nice for wishful thinking. such a build will run you minimum $25,000. Spending that kind of money would warrant some investigative work on your end.
If GTM or forged is going to do all the work, go with what they recommend.

And the worst part of a build like this is when you get to the clutch......and you say
"WHY IN THE HELL DOES A CLUTCH FOR THIS SETUP COST $3000?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
lol
good luck. All choices are good. I'd talk with whoever is doing your build/tune and see what they recommend. Every place has their own preferences/recommendations on certain things.
I think pretty much all those kits and others have shown what the turbo kit is capable of. Need to decide what you want in fuel (can never go too big on fuel setup IMHO), and EMS.

+1 bc the people that really drop that kinda money dont ask for general opinions on the forum.
there are dynos for all those setups under the shop builds. All the info is out there.

Hey thanks for pointing out what I have already researched in the shop builds ur input really helps!!!! Now the reason anyone would create a thread is to get peoples opinions I have th facts tanks for looking like an arrogant *** in m thread, but once again I was looking for an opinion and u gave me yours .... It was just usless
LOL
your reply makes me smile. Mainly because I cant understand what you typed. I guess english isn't your 1st language.
Either way, since you are too lazy to look up stuff yourself, heres the rundown.
-Cost - all within a few hundred
-Efficency - 20g/APS more of less the same at the same boost. SFR depends on what turbo you choose
-bottlenecks - 20g or APS stuff big wheels into small housing. SFR uses whatever turbo you want
-strong points - 20g/APS easy bolt on kits. SFR increased need for fabrication
If a shop is doin all the work for you, you pretty much do what the shop recommends. I doubt Forged will do a SFR install (without significantly more labor hours billed) again based on previous conversations.
I just know the research I put in before dropping 25,000$ never necessitated me (nor Cass, XKR, Thom00001, Alberto, Romey, EagleTangogreen, etc etc) to ask such questions...

so this is another un-researched dream thread?
