Default Fuel leak on RFS

By buddy recently went FI, and a couple days ago we found a nasty fuel leak coming from his RFS pressure regulator. We discovered it was coming from the hex screw in the front that plugs the hole where the gauge normally goes. It appeared there was some gummy substance around the plug (dissolved plumbers tape perhaps?) and tightening it with a hex key seemed to stop the leaking.

Now there is still one thing I am curious/concerned about. The right angle fuel line input coming into the bottom is loose -- I could rotate the entire fitting with my fingers. We can't tighten the fitting though because the whole line rotates along with it. However, fuel is not leaking from here it would appear.

Is this something that may bite him in the rear down the road, or is it normal? I tried to compare it to mine but due to heat wrapping of the lines and lower placement it wasn't easy to get down there to see.

Thanks...

It's not mine, so I'm not entirely sure. But it's the same pressure regulator that I have, so here's a pic of mine. Only difference is his gauge is mounted near the plenum not on the regulator like mine.

The loose fitting in question is the one on the bottom (fuel input)

So take the regulator off. tighten it by turning the regulator and screw it back into the wall. if its not leaking its good. And btw, that line on the bottom is the return line, not feed. The fuel goes through oem hardline to the rails to the regulator and then to the tank.

they are all NPT threads and will start leaking if they are not tight. Mine leaked from the front as well. I used some tape on the threads and sealed it up. You dont want that one on the bottom leaking as thats the feed line. If you can move the fitting, you need to redo it
