i guess that means porsches are doin it wrong as well.....
well i'm not saying its wrong.. i'm just curious.. because i always thought they were suppose to be in the front for maximum air flow.. if i thought it was wrong i would have said intercooler fail and posted it in OT..
intercoolers are used to COOL the air being compressed into your intake... someone correct me if im wrong... the reason its mounted in front is so that the outside air that is hitting it as you drive will cool the intercooler (aluminum cools alot faster) then cooling the air that your turbo is compressing and sending from turbo to charge pipe to intake
every car with the engine behind the driver that is turbo charged from the factory will have the cooler(s) in the rear, just not as obvious and pronounced.
can be quite effective if the air is diverted properly through them. my neighbor went air to water on his mr2 because he wasnt satisfied with the greddy rear mount cooler for it. some work some dont.

I don't know much about Miatas, but I thought the engine was in the front of the car.
yes its a miata.. with a very huge wing.. weird looking.. looked like a 12 o clock bar on a motorcycle.. he also took off .. the car was loud and not very fast
Come on Doug: It's to cool the EGT before letting them into the atmosphere.
Everyone is doing it here on the West Coast in an effort to go green. Aren't you???
