Maybe its his rear diff oil cooler! One of those guys that thinks everyone puts intercoolers in the front, i think I will be different and put it in the rear. If it has a rear mount turbo kit it would make a little sense from a back yard mechanic stand point it might have been easier to put in the back. Anyway i think it looks lame.

He has clearly performed the highly exclusive "rear engine swap". He is now FWD.

Definitely a Miata. Most cars get drag resistance in the rear bumper, I'm sure you've all seen the circular cut-outs in the rear to decrease drag on track cars. Maybe this guy was using it to his advantage and slapped on an intercooler instead.. LOL

Turbo lsx. There is zero room for the intercooler and turbo upfront so you do a complete rear mount setup. Kind of also helps weight balance if you use a large enough core. The wing increases df to allow minimal air underneath the car to keep temps low.

That defintely looks weird but like was said miatas don't have room in the front really for anything other than an water to air, and air to air intercoolers function as really a heat sink. That set up doesn't seem optimal but it does something. I couldn't go out like that though I would have to hide that.

HOLY SH*T! Maybe it's an RA built Miata? Any WA2GOOD sightings over on the Miata forums?

It's been done before, you need to do something original, like a trunk-mount unit that doubles as a wing.

^

Not to mention there is no room under a miata to run anything. The IC piping must be 1/4" with a 1/4" to 2.5" adaptor lol.

And a buddy of mine has a turbo Miata and there is more than enough room in the front for a intercooler this size. The wing on the trunk says all we really need to know about this car.
