Procharger installed-tuned, brake pedal problem?!!
We live in Santo Domingo, D.R. We installed the procharger in about 7 hours and tuned right after with an FJO wide band in less than an hour since the Aeromotive FMU is SOO user friendly. I have the SAFC II installed also but didnt need to use it, just the knock sensor to monitor the engine. We have good experience with superchargers and turbochargers; we have owned several supercharged mustangs, one pushing 800rwhp and an IS300 currently pushing 500+rwhp (See sig).
I was VERY impressed with the ATI kit. We never had to leave the garage since it came so complete! Everything went in fine, no mayor issues. The car pulls really nice all the way to redline. We tuned the car to a safe 11.9 A/F ratio.
The problem:
After the install, sporadically the brake pedal gets mushy and its travel increases. The car still brakes, but I need to apply more pressure to the pedal. I have a boost gauge installed, and see no boost leaks. I believe that the condition is related to the VDC beacause it works in conjunction with the ABS, throttle and brake pedal. Since the car is reading positive boost, the VDC or ECU is not able to recognize this and is affecting the cars brake operation.
Anyone with a procharger installed experience similar problems?
We would really appreciate any help on this.
P.S. After the car was tuned, I took it to the dyno and made 387rwhp and 305rhtq in a Dynojet. The car was dynoed in 4th gear running C-16 race fuel because the octane in my country is really bad and wanted to be safe. For the street I'll add 3 gallons of Toulene/per tank to keep the octane above 92 (R+M/2).
We won last year drag championship open class with the Supercharged Mustang and the street class with the turbo IS300, lets see how the Z does this year!

Is this right after hard acceration? Greddy was having a braking problem with their system, and is working on it. I suppose we have a vacuum brake booster that won't assist much under boost instead of vacuum. I think somebody needs to come out with a hydraulic brake booster upgrade for our beloved Zs.
Thats funny, after reading the title I thought we shared the same problem. 7 PSI with stock brakes equals no stop sometimes. You are the first person I have heard of with this problem (at leat the way you are looking at it). Are you sure you didn't bleed the brakes incorrectly? I thought the issue with the greddy kit was with the alcon brake system, not the procharger and vdc.
I havent messed with the brakes so theyre fine... The problem doesnt have to do when I accelerate, I can be going really slow and this will happen. A way to get rid of the mushiness in the pedal is by braking hard and activating the brakes till the ABS comes on. This is why I believe is a problem with the VDC. I will insist that this problem occurs ocassionally and when it does, by activating the ABS it will go back to normal...
This is part of the Z. Enthuz (forum member) and me experienced this at a HDPE at Gingerman Raceway. We are both NA (no procharger). Coming out of turn #11, there is a nice straight that leads right into a hard left turn #1. When approaching turn #1 at full throttle, the brakes would be mushy and need extra force. They worked, but the first time you experience it, it really freaks you out. Thank God Gingerman has no walls in turn #1. The Z does have a vacuum brake booster and under WOT and I would imagine boost, there is no vacuum and hence no brake booster. Consequently, you have to mash harder on the brakes.
