Default Removed EVAP

I started removing the evap junk out of my car... I got a code which I expected, I can not remember the number off the top of my head. My question is to the gurus or anyone one else who might know. Do you just leave the code and move on or did you add a resistor or something to trick the ecu that it is still there.

I will move to the rear of the car now to remove the carcoal box and other misc. garbage.

So far I have filled up 2 times since the evap stuff has been removed from under the hood and no filling issues knock on wood.

On my personal car and customer's wishing to remove evap - I turn the code off via reflash.

People who have emissions testing: Keep in mind, removing the evap system (and/or related codes) will cause EVAP readiness test to show "Not Ready"

Though there are more parts, the two most common reasons would be to clean things up in the engine bay and make room for fuel lines under the car.

To remove extra equipment, hoses, etc. The evaporative system exists solely for the purpose of minimizing hydrocarbon (fuel vapor) release to the atmosphere.

EDIT: oops - Hal beat me to it.

Being that the evap line is the largest tube running under the car it is nice to remove it and have that opened up even if you are only putting a -6 in the place of it.

hmm, i guess i never bothered to think what those other lines were. I'm using a hardline between the motor and the tank (CJM stage2) with the stock gas line removed and it fits nicely.

That is part of my plan, to delete what is not needed, and make room for the fuel system that will go in its place.

The reflash isn't going to make you pass a smog test it just kills the light.

Actually, a reflash can make the EVAP SRT show "not available" instead of "not ready" so that is pretty cool.

any updates to this removal. I am in the process of removal and thinking that we might need some sort of check valve on the breather line off the tank, any thoughts

I jus installed a check valve on the purge line off the canister.. I didn't remove the whole thing yet, but prolly will in the future.. I jus wanted to get the smell of fuel which was pumped directly in to my car gone....

I haven't driven since I did it but the smell is now gone.. I rerouted the hose towards the back of the car then stuck a check on it...
