How many of you guys passed redline?
Well... this is my second time, since i got my car back from uprev. During the full throttle at first gear, my tires spin out at 6k rpms or so,and i just missed that 1 sec to shift to second gear...so my RPMs just went over redline.( i saw it passed 7k rpms, btw mine is non revup ) After that, my idle got very rough. I turned off the car and leave it for few mins and it runs fine after...Hopefully it didn't hurt anything...
i guess forget about suspension plan, just save for block...

It shouldn't be able to go beyond redline unless Uprev messed up on your rev limiter setting. You may contact them to double check that it is enabled and set properly.
Gotta make sure you slam those shifts home like Alberto
Hopefully the only thing that got hurt were your cars feelings
, but be mindful of any new noises coming from the motor. Any clanking sounds at idle are bad...... trust me.

I peg my tacho frequently as well, on purpose, as redline is 8500. I wish there was a 10k nismo tach, similar to TRD for Supras.

i bang the rev limiter daily...mine is at 6600 though where it should be...i got re-tuned the other day and made 420whp still at a measly 9-10psi on dynojet with the test pipes on and a little more aggressive tune from a baseline of 390whp..gotta get out to the track again now cause its feelin very strong.. chef get that rev-limiter back where it should be before u go breaking things

Still with 3.12 pulley? You are making great power.
They probably set the rev limiter at 7000rpm, and you just quickly bounced off it. The needle on the dash is optimistic, so 7000rpm usually registers about 7200rpm on the gauge.
In all likelihood, you did no harm to your motor.

My rev-limit is 7000 rpm and anytime I hit the gas in first gear I hit it a bunch... the beauties of fwd. I have been running 12psi and revving to 7000 rpm with my vortech for a few years now, mine still runs great. knock on wood.

Oh now it does make sense. At first time was from when i missed 3rd gear. I do remember i was still pushing a pedal and RPMs just bounced out/back.
Thanks! Now i can go to sleep!

stock gauges aren't accurate at all.
The only way to "over rev" an engine that has an electrical rev limiter is to downshift into a gear that's too high. Then you can get a physical over rev of the engine. A bad downshift will NOT be saved by a rev limiter since electronics aren't making the car go to rev, the actual wheels are.
Unless the rev limiter is jacked up, you should be able to slam the gas and hit rev limiter and be safe. It's made for safety. It's a rev LIMITER.
I always love the guys that say you're destroying things by hitting the rev limiter. When you aren't under load it's not quite healthy for it, but it won't destroy anything.I've had a few of my mx racers land from triples and downshift in the air thus overspinning the engines on landing and sanpping a rod. I have to get crappy with them about being careful because i get sick of replacing rods on the motors. These motors are revving to 14k rpms and right up on the rev limiter for 45 minute races straight without problems.
yes still with 3.12 for now...
i wonder if ur eyes are playing tricks on u here..i say do it again and watch closely but thats just me, and yes as said above the tach will show a littler higher at the gauge than it really is but still mine doesnt go there
i bounce right off 6600..Id find out from uprev to be sure then do it again
