I kinda would still like to have some sort of whoosh. Just not the aircraft sound. It just got a little old for my taste.

Adding a filter will muffle the sound , but not get rid of it. You really want to route a hose to your blower intake, if you want to do it right.

It make all the difference in the world if you do it right!!!!!
As far as "Sound", it's like Night and Day.
You just need to Add a layer of 1/2" dense filter foam to the inside surface.
You Don't Pack it with Something.......

This is very Simple, you guys out there make these things way to complicated.

I could not stand the sound before I added the Filter.....it's been installed for 6 years. It was the first Modification I made to the Vortech Kit.

maybe that hose is helping u idk...mine is clamped right on to the bpv itself and it made no difference...ill have to try that filter foam im not really sure how that works, where did u get it?
also u are using a hose of some sort which i couldnt do, my bpv is facing the opposite way from yours and it would stick out too far

Haha yeah I guess it gets a little complicated. I'm trying to get the effect of the diverter valves that the Audi vehicles get by rerouting the bpv. I still wanna hear the whoosh when you let off the throttle, but otherwise make it quiet under normal driving conditions.

At pepboys they sell square pieces of air filter that are for air boxes. They would work perfectly. Theyre breathable and will fit.

I wouldnt use a dense foam . It would restrict air flow out of the bpbv . You need to use something that passes air through it very easy .

So has anyone actually recirculated the BPV to the intake filter? any pics? i want to do this for this season.. getting tired of airplane noise all the time.

Just want to make sure by doing this, it wont cause any issues like back surge etc.

You could either use flex pipe of some sort or have someone make a custom pipe. Then just have a flange welded on to the intake tube and attach it from the BPV to the Intake with two silicone couplers. I have thought of doing this and even adding an electric cut-out so I can have it silent when I want it and have the jet sound when I want that. I agree it is a bit annoying when driving down the highway but there is no way I would want to get rid of the sounds the Vortech makes all together.
Just do it like this...See pic on post #32

Ok so alllllll this talk about it and not one person has done it. I had my shop look into it, they called Vortech and Vortech said at not time ever should it be done. If anything gets in the way of the air being released it can cause a surge.

sux for me.. i just ordered the filter because i was told it cuts the noise in half.

If anyone has actually done this.. please chime in but out of allll the research i did and people talking about it, not one person has done it.

I dont know why vortech would say that. That would be no different if somethiing blocked the BPV while it was VTA.

There is absolutely no resaon you can't pipe the BPV back into your air intake infront of the supercharger.

Who ever told you that a mesh filter will lower the noise in 1/2 has never actually tried it before. That like saying putting a CAI intake on your car will make it quieter....
