I totally appriciate what you are saying, but he also had the HR head bolts.

Before his issue, I was considering both the HR head bolts and the HR head gaskets. After his problem, I have eliminated the HR head bolts from my potential buld list. Just because the HR head bolts failed does not mean the HR head gaskets are bad. Nonetheless, it certainly does raise suspission!!!!! I am aware of the failure, and I am proceeding cautiously.

As I previously mentioned, if the HKS had the same cooling modification, it would be a no-brainer. But, the HKS does not have that modification, so the HR head gasket presents a seductive option... It may be good, it may be bad, I don't know. So, I will continue to monitor the situation until it is time to make a choice.

No, it was the stock TTY studs, not the L19s, He stated that the bolts were the issue and he reccommended swapping them out if you were going over ~15-17psi.

Why not go through one of your local shops?

Two local shops in the area I would recommend, much easier to let them do it all start to finish.

aside from the HR gasket having the cooling channel do they look any similar to the HKS? What about the HR head studs to ARP studs? (im speaking in terms of material/quality/strength if known). What doesnt help me going this route is that Nissan didnt intend for the HR to be under boost so im sure when they made the studs/gasket FI wasnt on their mind.

But it is good to see people having success with them at a fraction of the cost of the alternate options.

BTW- Just picked up my Full Long Block today @ Japtrix a few hours ago . Big shout out to you guys giving some great info and suggestions.

definitively no on the HR head studs if you are shooting for 600+. Thats what let loose on Joe's car.

I wouldn't get larger injectors than you actually need, as the larger the injector the more issues you will have with idle and part throttle (cruising).
