If it weren't for the first two, I would have definitely gone for it.

Will it drive good with Osiris? It should.

Are you willing to risk your built block over the relatively small difference in price between a haltech and osiris? When you price the MAF and all other costs of the Osiris tuning process, it isn't as cheap as you think.

It seems like alot of smaller shops are really pushing Osiris...it's a helluvalot easier for them to setup and tune, that's for sure. Makes me wonder.
Drawback 1 is overated concern and should be taken care of with a good tune to begin with, the stock ECU does sense knock below 5k and the major area of concern with knock would be in the 3-5k area, if it is tuned well this should not be an issue. Also there are probably many Fcon users that have the AFK not hooked up or set up properly for knock anyway and are in delusion thinking all is well becuase it reads 0, also the knock sensing on any EMS is only as good as the tuner sets it up.

Drawback 2 well that is what a good boost controller is for

And drawback 3 - why is that a drawback?

Westpack, in another thread we are discussing 50/50 meth injection vs. straight meth. It is my understanding that at one time Japtrix/HP Logic did some testing regarding this. I don't know if it was Jack or Roger on the dyno at the time. Next time you talk to Jack, can you ask if that was him. If so, maybe he can chime in with his thoughts. Here is the link:

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...injection.html

Thank you!
yeah that is what DW also said but when I wanted high impedance injectors I thought 500 ohms was a little too much LOL

I will ask Jack on the methanol

Great responses. I'll edit my post to refer to this one.

It is my understanding that low impedance injectors have a slightly faster response, but I highly doubt anybody would ever detect this driving the car, and it is probably mostly hype (although this probably conflicts with my previous thoughts on the subject).

I think the reason people went with low impedance was that it was the only thing available in the large 1000cc injectors many of us went with, the belief is that the high impedance ones are actually better for response and keeping glitches out of driveability

Once I decide on another injector brand I will try this again

yes you can tell by the number of flashes of the cruise control light which map you switched to

4.1. Once an ECU has been reflashed with Osiris it will have the added functionality to switch maps from the cruse control buttons.
4.2. Map switching happens in real time. You do NOT need to shut down the engine.
4.3. To switch maps, hold down the “Set” toggle.
4.4. While holding the “Set” toggle, press the “Cancel” button once for map 1, twice for map 2, three times for map 3, etc…
4.5. Release the “Set” toggle.
4.6. The green cruse “Set” light will flash confirmation pulses, once for map 1, twice for map 2, etc…

No product will protect for knock above 5000 rpms as the engine is creating a ton of noise already and the little microphone (which is what it is) will no longer pick it up. This has been said many times before. UPREV has protection up to 5k rpms.

I personally know someone who just got Haltech and now he is ditching it for UPREV because of constant issues with drive ability he has had with his car.

That is going to come more from the tuner and parts than the ECU.

I have the pro-efi 48 and the car starts, idles, drives, accells, decels, accessories all work......exactly like stock.

As a matter of fact you can't even tell anything is done to the car (other than clutch) until you lean on the loud pedal.......

Thanks Larry @ SP

Sensor or housing. 6xxwhp was Highest one that I heard.
There are few guys running built stock ecu/sensor BUT bigger or maybe modif housing(not enough info about that but one guy is shooting high hp as well).
Hope this help.

Btw, my sensor price is obo. So its little more that 20% discount

My own ears and my UTEC have detected knock well above 5k once (my MAP sensor came unplugged). Also, can the stock ECU stop overboost? Or is this just not important either?

In reality, if you have a properly configured wastegate and boost controller, overboost is a non-issue.

Do the F-CON and Haltech even have overboost protection??? If so, how do they implement it???

I'd be interested to see how 600+whp built Z would run on this.

I agree a well setup system should not overboost not sure where that comes from, I have not had any overboost issues in 5 years of boosting my Z.

The Fcon cannot control overboost, but if you have some failure of a component that results in overboost the best safeguard is to have the fuel map dump a ton of fuel at boost levels above where you want to run and you can also do the same with the timing maps, you can reduce the timing at the same levels as the fuel dump.

A good boost controller should cover the issue, but to be safe making the fuel and timing changes I mentioned is a safeguard

that is insanely "dope"

Wow I might legitimately consider this...
If GTM can tune it then here we go stock ecu!
