Saving on the motor for now, When i do upgrade it will be an ipp motor, turbos are t3/t4 hybrids 60-1's, Ems is an FTC, Cams are stock at the moment, no point in doing them till i remove the engine and do a complete rebuild.

Im expecting 380-400 at the wheels, with the me being 1300m above sea level

Looks good, let us know how the install goes. I pulled the engine for my turbo install but I have no patience so fighting with $hit in the car or pulling or pulling the engine was an easy decision for me. i am pulling the engine again Friday i am going to see if i can have it out in an evening. Keep us updated

those IC cores are smaller than what we normally see. Here's teh same one on Wongy's 700 hp car, so they must do ok.

I personally wouldn't mess with the injector harness for this purpose. I am sure that there are a few places you can tap in to, just have to poke around with a meter. As long as the cuicuit is active/live while the engine is running I guess. You can alays use a programable output on any decent EMS, just activate it through rpm.

I thought that FMIC looked very small compared to the norm out there. Looks like a 6" tall core. I think the OP thought I was asking for the overall height of the FMIC, that is why he said 12".

They are 2.5's and as for the headers I actually don't know what heat wrap i should use... Suggestions? And the core is 8 inches

I think dean was wanting to do that, just cause with this kit the turbos arnt pushed up next to the engine

wrap is all essentially the same. woven fiberglass

2 rolls of this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=160373583063 should be enough to do your header, and downpipes.

Plus you'll want to heat wrap all the wires. XKR's thread around page 60 has a bunch of good photos of what properly wrapped lines look like

must just be the angle of the photo, but your IC doesnt even seem as big as the one here

so its core size is 24x8x3.5?

Yea, when i was looking over the instructions it mentioned something about being welded, however... there was no peice to be welded... Turns out timp prewelded it to the intake pipe

Do you have experiance with the SFR kit?

no, i've got a vortech, but i;ve spent my share of time comparing every aspect of log vs header turbo kits (ie SFR/SP vs GTM/Greddy/APS). And my focus has been on the header style kits.

prolly just as excited as you to see this go together. Thom0001 is the only other active member on here with header style manifolds, but SP installed the kit for him.

Really? I was looking around and i havent seen any one else with the SFR kit so i was kinda weary about ordering the kit after i saw that no one else on her has made comments about it.

Tim is a great guy, and really proud of his product. I dont blaim him, me and my friend inspected the beads on the welds and everything else it is just top quality. So far i have no complaints other then missing parts... and the parts i am missing so far do not seem to have it near as bad as a bunch of other people who have ordered kits.

Edit: I didnt do much research on the whole log vs header kits... but the SFR one seemed better just because it looked like it could handle heat better. What have you found?

looking at the pictures of the setup put together on the floor i'm going to make the note that there is probably no physical way you could properly torque those header bolts with the motor in the car.

I've put headers on quite a few car and doing my g35 was the hardest and worst i've ever done. With the engine in the car there was no way to properly torque the headers down. I could have used a junky open ended wrench and got half the torque i needed but that wouldn't work. We ended up unbolting the motor and lifting it to get a normal torque wrench in there. This was also without having a huge turbo in the way which looks like will be an issue for you.

Just as an FYI before you start the build.

tightening the studs only requires 22 foot pounds according to the FSM. If you can only half torque 22 ft-lbs by hand, you need to stop havin your grandma do your wrenching!

I think i've seen only 2 cars on here with SFR kits.

Wongy
https://my350z.com/forum/shop-builds...ly-driver.html

and kevinapex.
https://my350z.com/forum/south-west/...has-begun.html

People tend to shy away for a few reasons
>under hard daily driving, the headers can warp under the weight of the turbo and crack
>gotta use an oil sump/pump system
>not many other people have them
>install can be quite more challenging
>often more expensive
