Thumbs up Project Single Turbo has begun!

Hey guys,

Just as an update, we recently acquired our 2003 350Z Track Package and have already started the turbocharging process!

I mentioned before that twin-turbos would probably be the most effective way to boost the 350Z. Well, I think I'll be going back on my words as we really think we've spec'd out a single turbo that will work very well for this car!

We'll be prototyping this in an effort to keep costs down for you folks! Hopefully get some of you boosted and happy

Thanks!

Darryl

I would really like to see this succeed. I've been wishing for a single turbo app but didn't see it being feasible with the V6 in a cramped bay.

Good luck, it's much appreciated.

if it works in a maxima vq30de... it will work in the FM engine bay.

excellent news! I was dreaming about a single T system for the 350z / g35 series cars. The boosted single T maximas in maxima.org had tremendous success with their setups.. and I wonder, with an extra 0.5 L bump, I wouldn't be surprised if our cars provided extra oomph. However, the manifolds must be fabbed ala wrx style... with the manifolds merging into an 'up-pipe'. I wonder how the lag will contend in this design rather than in a short tubed manifold.

now.. i'll just sit here.. and patiently wait.

now im giddy and I have a biology test soon!

GREAT!

happy and safe motoring

I'm with you guys.. can't wait to see this. I figure if Top Secret can fabricate a single turbo set-up then there is a way. So hopefully this comes out clean and reliable. Any info on how you guys are going to handle ECU management?

Since I am one of the initial ones to suggest you guys go with a single turbo, I almost feel like a proud daddy, hehe.

I would love to get some updates and progress, as we don't get much info from other manufactors. If you can keep us up to date, that gives you even more of an advantage.

Good luck, you are doing the best thing, if it can be done reliably, with good power without lag, and at a good price (not asking too much )

Well, I should change what i said a bit. To me, lag is not always a bad thing, you don't always need boost in daily driving. Price and reliability will be the biggest issues, along with the ability to strengthen the engine on our own, and having the turbo that you guys use being able to run a lot of boost for a high HP application.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the good words!

Yes, we will definitely keep everyone posted with our progress. Our next step will be to setup vendor status on this forum so that we can post pictures and links. In the meantime, please keep up-to-date with our website.

Thanks!

Darryl

You guys think about what you will use for fuel management yet? Is it going to come with larger injectors etc...

As of this moment, engine management has not been finalized. Possibly Greddy E-Manage, possibly something else. This really depends on what works well for us and what doesn't. Larger injectors most definitely be included. We've NEVER been fans of using additional injectors or FMU's.

Thanks

Darryl,

Can remember are you guys going to include exhaust pipes in your setup? (sorry i ask every time)

If we have a turbo ex setup, can it be subtracted from the kit...

Thanks

An exhaust will not be included with the turbo kit, however we will have some very nice turbo exhausts available.

We have a spec'd out everything we'd like to use and everything will be here soon. I'm not releasing any parts yet as these things tend to change while prototyping.

Thanks
