It just seems to me the small turbo would being a huge choke point if it was the last one in the line before the throttle body.

nevermind, i watched the video. Makes sense with the extra wastegate valve directing exhaust around the small turbo so it won't choke it down.

A friend of mine has a gt3071 feeding a gt47r on a 2.2L DSM. This is an amazing setup.

I was thinking gt28 feeding a gt40 (or a 6765)

^why? the gt28 isnt that small and the gt40 isnt that big. We've seen a gt35r can be full in by 3200 rpms. You'd want a gt35r feeding a GT55 90mm turbo to even make it worthwhile. Or better yet, a pair of gt40s with a 100shot to spool them. The would be hands down the fastest setup.

Otherwise a straight up greddy kit would be just as fast.

You could make a 1100-1200 whp compound setup that spools before 4K with a 35R and a 47 or 55... I am getting all hot n bothered thinking about it.

I think the largest turbo I can fit in my currect ST location is a T76, as the compressor covers get larger after that. That is my limitation, the compressors cover phyical size.

However, that is a 900+HP turbo, and the market even for that would be very small.

nah you could put the 35r sized one where you have it mounted and then put the big one back where the stock muffler was.

There would be more of a market for that setup than messing with the complexities of smaller turbo compounding to make the same power as a 18/20G kit. Thats why you dont see compound kits. You can make the same kinda power with a proper TT. Its mainly for looks.

IF I was to experiment, I would put the large turbo where I have a turbo mounted now, and the maller turbo at the passenger header. I just don't want to run 20' of IC piping from all the way back.

I also think that STS would have a problem with that idea. I am sure it would be some sort of vialation of the patent (if it is patented).

that wouldn't violate the patent, design or purpose... Compound vs Single are different physical designs. the problem with a compound of this magnitude is cost & support vs, a big single or twins with spray.

Will see what can be done. It snowed here last night so the car is officially going in to the R&D phase. 7 months of winter does have a good side after all.
